Him pulling out does not increase the effectiveness because his semen contains sperm.
Smoking does not decrease the effectiveness of the pill. However, it can irritate the vagina, causing infections or interacting with the HPV cells you most likely already have, to create cancerous cells. It also can cause blood clots and heart disease. Try cutting down, dear.
As for the pill, if you take it everyday, without missing one, at the same time, you should be fine. My bf and I never used them and didn't pull out at all and I never got pregnant. But I also never missed a pill and took it on time. If you know you wouldn't be pleased if you did end up pregnant, use a condom or you'll have no one to blame but yourself.

Birth control pills are around 98-99 percent effective if taken properly. "Properly" means at the same time every day and none missed. Condoms decrease your risk of getting pregnant and contracting an STD but as long as you are taking your pills like you are supposed to then you should be ok.
Remember though that even when taken properly there is still a small chance of getting pregnant without a backup method like condoms.

Hi,
No pulling out before he cums will not decrease your chance of getting pregnant, even though he has not *** he will have still leaked out a little, i don't think any birth control is 100% i have friends and family and their mates and family who have all got a story about how they got pregnant when using some sort of birth control if you are really worried use a condom or ask your doctor what other birth control there is out there!

First of all, please stop smoking! So bad for your health. Just look around you at women in their 40's who are smokers. Look at their skin and listen to the sound of their voices. If that isn't enough to make you quit, I don't know what is!
Secondly, it is a good thing you're on the pill, because pulling out will not prevent pregnancy. He might as well stop doing that! If you forget or are late with even one pill, your chances of pregnancy are much greater.

"pulling out" wont help, there is still a chance that you could get pregnant. The pill is effective but it does have sexually side affects. You basically wont get horny as much. If you don't like the idea of a pill, then use a condom!!

pulling out isn't effective b/c the the sperm comes out in small amounts the whole time and just a lot at the end. I would definately use some other form of protection, whether it be condoms or the pill, whatever, you don't sound ready to be a mommy....r u?

When used properly, pills are very effective. Pulling out also helps. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but you are taking decent precautions.
