I seem to remember reading something a few years ago suggesting that most of it ended up dumped in the Thames, eventually being trawled out and used for scrap - a tragedy! Perhaps the Museum of London can provide further details?

I know this isn't very helpful, but I do remember seeing a documentary once, because it has been a source of great debate - it was erected on the south bank, but taken down after the exhibition, ending up in a field somewhere - the person in the documentary (this was over 10 years ago) was trying to trace the various parts - with limited success. I think it ended up being scrapped. Perhaps there is something on the bbc website? - I think it is more likely that the programme was on the bbc - it was very thorough. Good luck with your quest - you've got me wondering now!
