If you are using the latrine, then by all means replace the toilet paper. Tell the host afterwards. I wouldn't worry about the proper way to open packaging. The host should be embarrassed for not providing enough toilet paper for a guest. If they want to fix the toilet paper - all the more power to them.

If you are a guest in a home and the toliet paper runs out it is OK to refill the toilet roll. The only place I would not feel proper in refilling is in a restaurant. As for opening the packaging - it's like home. There is a perferation where you tear the plastic at the top of the package. Like it is saying - Open me here.

Well, if i need to wipe and they are out of paper then I'm going to refill it. As far as opening the package, i didn't know there was a proper way to be honest with you.

Definitely ok to refill someones loo paper. When you are busting so bad it hurts, you dont care about how to open the packaging. I didn't know that was an issue!

Absolutely. Isn't one of the most annoying things in this life when you are finished with your business and you look over at the toilet paper roll only to see a small brown paper tube with no paper on it? If you did that in my house, I would be most appreciative.

It's always polite to ask before you do anything for other people. If they agree to your suggestion, you can ask the proper way of opening the packaging.

Yes, BUT do not go digging through their cabinets to find it. If a new roll is not sitting there in the open to grab, kindly tell the hostess that you used the last of the paper and SHE/HE will take care of it!

First, that is kind of you to do so.
I prefer to open on the package folds, as opposed to just tearing open the packaging

Yes, if you can find another roll under the sink. (Beats leaving the bathroom with dirty underwear.) I have no reason to suppose that there exists a "rpper" way to open the package -- you just take out a roll and put it on the roll holder (loose end out, please).
