Last week I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mention the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and entered my sisters boyfriends name and found out that he was convicted of armed robbery in 1999. I know this is him because the name, date of birth, and address are all the same. I am sure my sister or my dad doesn't know.......should I tell my sister or our dad? I don't know how to handle this situation.

yes you have a duty to tell your sister about this...but dont be surprised if she dosent listen...sometimes love will make a person blind to all else...she may get angry with you but you still must tell her...good luck

hi, I think that you believe you should (possibly cos you know you would want to be told if it were you) and whichever way you look at it...somehow you are going to have to tell..but how? and this is where you need to think very carefully about your motives- what made you look in the first place? Even if you "just didn't like him" it is possible to keep your sister's friendship level intact if you do it in sincere regret of the hurt the information will inflict. I would definately suggest you tell your sister first to lessen the "ganged up on" feeling she may get with your dad knowing also. It will impact on her relationship with her boyfriend...that he didn't tell her himself...and yet there may still be some fall-out on you...l don't believe it would last, but despite all that I would still do it regardless because of my love for my sis- to protect and care and give her all the info she needs for the best decision for her to make- even if she never spoke to me again. It is not something that you can just pretend you didn't know -and you did come across it legitimately. Life never gives us easy outs does it? All the best..hope I helped a lil.

Tell your sister's fiance what you know and give him the option of telling your sister. Then the two of them should go to your Dad and tell him. If this isn't done within 4-5 days, show your Dad what you have learned. Not all felony's are equal.

Why don't you create a new email address she doesn't know, and mail her the link to the page with him on it. Or mail her a copy in an envelope without a return address on it. She'll find out that way - and there won't be any hard feelings against you personally, which will probably happen if you tell her outright.

Yes, I would tell your sister. SHe may get mad at you for checking into his background, but it's only for her best interest. Let her know, and what she does with it is up to her. I dated a convited felon~~against my friends' advice. I defended him, aruged with my friends, and even stopped talking to them. When the bottom fell out and I came to my sences and left him, I ran back to my friends (sobbing) and they were there for me. Never said "I told you so". That was hard for them, I'm sure. But I know that they truely were trying to protect me. Stand by your sister, wait for the time she'll need you. Good luck!

Show it to your sister first..then let her decide if this is a person she wants to spend her life with. If a person learns from a mistake, it becomes a lesson. Maybe this guy just screwed up, did his time, and is now a better person. However, your sister should know

First off who cares if he is a felon.My boyfreind of 3 years has like 2 felonies and he is the best guy and father anyone could ask for.Just ask your sister if he has any seriouse crimes against him or what not and then just tell her that you had heard about his crime.

Off course you should tell them. Tell your dad first and show him the info. Then the two of you can talk to your sister together and show her what you found.

If he is a convicted felon then you need to be a sister and tell your sister, she deserves to know before she gets married..

Tell your Dad you were searching for fun and something came up on the guy.
Actually scratch that, it costs $40 to get those records so it would not have been searching for fun.
