Last week I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mention the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and entered my sisters boyfriends name and found out that he was convicted of armed robbery in 1999. I know this is him because the name, date of birth, and address are all the same. I am sure my sister or my dad doesn't know.......should I tell my sister or our dad? I don't know how to handle this situation.

even if you're not 100% sure, she's your sister and you should at least inform her of what you've found. If she wishes to check into it further, that's up to her, but I'd say, yes definitely tell her !!

She has a right to know but please remember the old saying of "kill the messenger." You went behind her back and snooped, and along with owing her an apology for doing so, now you have bad news to impart. Depending on your relationship with her, she may not ever feel the same about YOU, and would definitely be uncomfortable around you. Also don't expect her to ditch the guy. If the guy hasn't done anything in the last seven years, he was smart enough to learn his lesson.

My husband has been in federal prison for 26 years, serving a 41 years sentence. Prison is pure hell. It is not glamourous and filled with pretty boy punks like the TV shows and movies. It is a horrible place, and the smart ones who spend time there promise themselves they'll never go back. This guy could be a much stronger person than the average guy if he's done time. He's seen stuff he could never tell you about, and lived the way most people could not understand. He probably has an appreciation for freedom that very few of us comprehend.

So don't be too quick to judge. Let her know, then step back. She could be furious with you for checking up on him behind her back, and see your action as a betrayal, especially now that it will change everything about her relationship with him. So don't expect "oh thank you!" Expect some anger, some denial, shock, and deal with it like an adult. You snooped, period, and owe her an apology. It could be the best thing that ever happened to her, but I bet it will take awhile for her to appreciate it. Good luck to both of you.

Yes, I would tell her, however, what she does or does not do with the information is up to her. And she may already know and considers this a part of his past and just has not told you about it. I just went to this site and realized that it costs 39 dollars for the background check. this arouses suspicion in your statement. What are you motives that you would go out of your way to do a background check and spend money to get it? You need to examine yourself and your reasoning's behind this. Good luck and God bless

You probably shouldn't tell them straight out. Print the information out and leave it lying around for them to find it. Another option is to get on their computer and make the page with the info. on it their home page. The next time they go surfing it will just pop up and slap them in the face. They'll get the hint.

Tell them both. 1999 was a long time ago, maybe this guy has changed. Have your dad and sister ask him about it. If he denies it, show him the proof. How he reacts will determine wether or not he is a changed man.

Don't tell dad-but do tell the sister. She has a right to know. Of course-even if she knows she may not break it off with him. Let her know-then stay out of it.

Blood is thicker than water. Boyfriends come and go again. I would find out all the details. Look up his history of violence, if there is any, than let her know. Beleive me she will thank you in the long run. Peace...

Spam. Why else include the URL? Look at the profile and see who "mentioned the link"

Of course you should tell your sister.Maybe she already knows then telling her won't change a thing except show her that you're looking out for her.
