Personally I like Melody better, it seems like a more elegant, gracious name than Leila. However, if you go with Leila please make sure to prounce it LEE-la or LIE-la, as LAY-la IMMEDIATELY make me think of the song Layla. And she will forever have people singing it to her.

What name would you like to be called when you are 80? too many parents give their kids cutesy names but forget that the child will grow to be an adult. There are going to be alot of Amandas and Jessicas in nursing homes 60 yrs from now. Stick with Leila...cute enough for a baby and mature enough for an old woman.
