because they told me the truth, jesus is God's son and not God as believed by many christian religions, noer his he part of a trinity. Jehovah is God's name whether it is taken out of the bible or not.

the first contact I had with witnesses, was when my mother said close the curtains and turn off the TV them bible bashers are here again, well that made me curious to know what they had to say, I had a freind who's parents studied, and bought a book printed by the witnesses in a charity shop, after reading it cover to cover, it touched a nerve.

but a few years went by and me and my partner moved in together, he worked for a JW and came home with stories I could not believe about the world ending and some dragon or other, but after our first christmas in our new house we decided to contact the witnesses and because we knew some of they're beliefs we took down all the decorations so we would not offend them.

the couple that came were an older married couple whos child went to school with my husband and who he had known for some time, and the main thing I remember from that meeting was the love that they spoke of within the congregation, so we started to study, within 3 months we got married because we were living together, my husband got baptised and I got pregnant, thats over 18 yuears ago now, we had some hard times as non of our families share our beliefs and we went from our first christmas to understand how wrong it is to celebrate that.

I am not and have never been brainwashed into thinking what I beleive, I have struggled with it at times and we are encouraged to study the bible avidly. I now spend most of my time sharing the things I have learned with others in the door to door ministry.

and just to let you know hiding behind closed curtains only means we will call back at another time!
if you really don't want us to call, ask for your house to be put down as a DO NOT CALL at your local congregation then you will not be called on.

I am a very logical person, and what I learned from studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses made sense. I was able to understand why there is so much wickedness in the world, why God has permitted suffering, what happens when we die, why bad things happen to good people, and I also was given a hope for the future, among other things.

I am going to provide you with a link to an article that discusses who Jehovah's Witnesses are and what we believe. I hope you will take a few moments to examine the information, look up the scriptures in your own copy of the Bible,, and see for yourself.

Because I believe that whatever you believe has to be believed for a reason. When I was shown about God's name being Jehovah and about the prospect of eternal life on a Paradise earth and many other beliefs, I read into the Bible to see if it was true. I became a Witness because I feel that this is the truth and I love being here.

my late husband and I where brought up Jewish. we became Jehovah Witnesses in 1990. we never have been told that God had a name. we did not follow the Jewish religion. we went to the Kingdom Hall before we started studying. we seen the love from everyone. everyone was worshiping together. white, black,Spanish. we learned about the Resurrection and about living in a paradise earth and that my late husband would never have m.s. again and be in a wheelchair and that my youngest son would be free from the c.p and my daughter being mentally handicapped. we love Jehovah God and Jesus Christ with all our hearts and soul. I can not wait to run and I mean run into my husband's arms in the new system and worship Jehovah and Jesus Christ forever.

I still remember the day some Witnesses knocked on our door.
They had a magazine about the Resurrection and how we
would see our loved ones again.
It wasn't anything we hadn't heard before. But my Mother just lost her mother, and she feel into it hard.
It's false pirde to think anyone has the TRUE religion, and eveyone else is CHIT. I still try to encourage my mother and family. But I am an independent thinker myself.

Because I studied God's Word, and found the bible to teach one truth, That Jehovah is God.

In the years since, no one has been able to show me different.

Because it is their personal choice to worship who and how they like. That my friend is what makes America a great country! WE have the choice of how and who we worship!

I am not a Jehovah's Witness in fact I am a Pagan. But I would fight for everyone's right to worship who and how they see fit. Just as our soldiers are doing right now!

Goddess Bless America!

I'm going to email this to my mother, but I seem to remember that it was a result of buying the series of books called The Bible Stories for me and my half-brother, and Encyclopedia Britannica for my older sisters.

She looked up something about the Ark one day and noted that it was really a box, whereas the Bible Books showed it as a boat, as she had been taught growing up. The idea of it being a boat came from pagan beliefs. That got her started at looking up other things, as well as what was commonly believed. The more she looked the more she noted the errors in commonly held beliefs. From there, all it took as a visit one day from a Jehovah's Witness.

She grew up in a Catholic orphanage and saw many of the things that now we are seeing in the news, though than the Nuns were just as bad. I guess they learned their lesson, as none of them have been accused of anything. At least not publicly. As an adult, she attended Church of Christ.

My stepfather was a Korean War Vet and a Lutheran who was highly opposed to the JWs coming around. He would throw out or burn the books and magazines. The woman who studied with my mother started bringing her husband, who would stay outside and visit with him. He didn't preach, at least not exactly. They mostly talked about their war experiences. Eventually, my stepfather began sitting in on the studies, than started studying himself. That was over 40-years-ago.

That last Christmas we celebrated, he did up the house to the 9s. Lights everywhere. We lived at the end of a short dead-end, with only one other house in Anaheim, CA. The lights crossed back and forth between the houses. My older sisters went to live with our father so that they wouldn't have to give up Christmas or other holidays.

My mother and stepfather are now in their 80s and walking thier final paths in life. My stepfather had a stroke, a year ago. Here's a short piece I wrote about him for Father's Day in 2005.

I didn't. It's not a church that honors Jesus Christ as the son of God or believes in the power of the holy spirit. It's a dead church of laws and regulations started by a man.
