The question implies that whatever denomination you are talking about already accepts and ordains gay ministers. So why would they have a problem with their being the head of the church?

What has the ministers sexuality got to do with him being able to create a fabulous sermon?
Its frankly no ones business.
I think gay and lesbian priests should govern their own church just like you have anglicans, evangelicals and jehova's. This type of segregation would fit perfectly within the context of faith and would serve as a sounding board for the truth. JESUS is an example of understanding.....nothing more or less but a great man with a greater story. I repsect his teachings but far from accept any deity as a personal saviour, thats just ill -informed and stupid. he alrady saved someone once, he aint gonna do any "physical work" EVER.........
save yourselves and close your eyes!!
or dont go to the homochurch of percieved sin. Stay at christian city or be a real honurable person by inviting members of both groups to form an alliance of faith.......
If faith is what you work off then have some more in that we can achieve our goals through silent action.
Next you wont allow sinners to join then you end up with a "law system". DO NOT BAN PEOPLE FROM ACHIEVING POSITIVE GOALS WITH SUPPORT FROM EXTERIOR HATERS. just SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Being gay is a sin to most people. It is contrary to the Bible as it were. So if they are a Christian minister or of a religion that does not advocate being gay or homosexual in order to be more perfect, people want to look up to their minister as much as possilbe. It would be easier to look up to somebody that is up front with their weaknesses and let the chips fall where they may. The church I think would lose more parishoners if this person is a liar and a homosexual. They should come out of the closet.

Yes, it contradicts the bible. The bible speaks the truth, like it or not. If the minister is gay he is not truly ready to give himself to God because he refuses to follow God's way, his teachings, he is still stuck on pleasing himself, to be a minister is give your all and a gay minister never really did that.
Your fleshly desires should not be in control it's your spirit. Following the word of the Bible is to follow all not just some. Forget about doing what you feel, its about giving all to your Father even when you may feel different about it. Letting him take control, trusting, and molding you to his likeness.
Nit-picking out only what you feel is right form the Bible is to change the teachings of God which is Blasphemous. God Bless!

They are an abomination to the chruch.
Proverbs 17:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Proverbs 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Homosexuals are an abomination and are not rightous in the eyes of God. They have no place of leadership in the house of the Lord if they themselves do not 0bey the word which they are to teach to the church members. It is not do as I say, but not as I do. Your own house must be kept clean before you can lead in the house of God.

They have no business in the church unless they repent and sin no more, and let The Holy Spirit changed their minds because homosexuality is an abomination to God, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Nothing sinful will enter the Kingdom of God. The life style does not match the Christian life.

Spreading the love of God is spreading the word of God. The whole gay thing is a grey area in opinion. The Old Testament is for sure against it, but we ignore (honestly) most of what the OT is against anyway. The only scripture against being gay in the New Testament states something to the effect that sexual acts outside of love are sinful, which would lead me to ponder, what if a gay person really is in love?
God loves us all. He doesn't love gays less.

I have no problem with gays attending church. As for a
church LEADER. One could be sexually oriented to being
gay, but abstain from indulging in it.
