(1) Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease characterized by a skin rash, joint inflammation, and flu-like symptoms, caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi transmitted by the bite of a deer tick.
(2) Harvest mite/Chigger bites cause severe itching.
(3) Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by a species of mite that is very small.
(4) Mosquitoes serve as vectors of filariasis, dengue, Dengue hemorrhagic fever, Chikungunya, yellow fever, the malarias and several of the viral encephalitides.
(5) In colder climates, houseflies occur only with humans. They have a tendency to aggregate and are difficult to dispel. They are capable of carrying over 100 pathogens, such as typhoid, cholera, Salmonella, bacillary dysentery, tuberculosis, anthrax, ophthalmia, and parasitic worms. The flies in poorer and lower-hygiene areas usually carry more pathogens. Some strains have become immune to common insecticides.

Mostly insects dont cause any of the diseases mentioned here. They only transmit the disease causing organisms. Eg
Malaria - caused by Plasmodium sps, spread by Anopheles mosquito,
Filariasis - caused by Wuchereria bancrofti, spread by Culex mosquito

Off hand, I can think of malaria, Japanese enchephalitis, yellow fever and Legionnaire's disease. Stay out of poor remote African areas as I've read that there are some real nasty disease-carrying bugs there.
