I have a 7 month old cat, and last night, out of the blue, he climbs on my bed, lays next to me, then stood up and urinated. He is neutered, so he wasn't spraying. I don't understand what is going on or what to do...

My cat is not abused or neglected in any way. Obviously if I treated my cat badly I wouldn't care enough to ask another's opinion as to what could be wrong with him. He only did it once, and it was not just a little bit... I believe he was mad at me because he wanted attention and I was going to bed. He was not in pain, but if he does it again I will take him to the vet. I appreciate most of your responses and thanks for sharing your experiences.

maybe you ticked him off, lol, thats true though, cats are smart (well to an extent :) ) if you make them mad for some reason they use your bed or your pillow and just urinate or poop on it to get revenge on you. I had a siamese do that to my bed after we had him neutered and declawed... he was ticked. but he only did that to me once.... he pooped on my daughters pillow every time she would make him mad...... LOL.

If there has been any changes to the household (strangers to the cat, children or a baby, another animal) this may of upset or stressed the cat and caused it to feel that it needed to mark.
Maybe food or drink was spilled on your bed?? This may cause the cat to feel like it needs to cover the scent.
It is also possible that the cat may have a UTI. Cats can get urinary track infections easily. If the cat continues to urinate in places other than it's litter box, you should make an appt. with your cat's vet.

Did he urinate a full bladder or just a drip? My male cat did the same thing only on the kitchen floor. He just came up meowed at me, squatted and peed a little dribble. Turns out he had a urinary tract infection which are more common in males than females because of their smaller urethra. I suggest getting him to the vet soon because UTI's can be fatal. Then ask the vet for a recommended diet for him to prevent a chronic condition. My guy had to eat Science Diet w/d (or was it c/d)

When my cat has done that in the past it is usually a sign that he is sick. Since cats can't talk they will do things like pee right in front of you. It could be a Urinary Tract Infection which is very easy to treat. You should make an appointment for the vet.

When I first started dating my husband, he and my male cat battled over who was the top cat because they were both strong alpha males. One day, the cat climbed up in my boyfriend's lap and peed on him. It was hilarious, but that was the only time he ever did it!

My boyfriend joked that he was going to pee on the cat to get even, but he didn't and they became good friends.

I'm sorry I know it doesn't answer your question, but it's such a funny anecdote!

Considering you simply moved, it most probably is not him being a male kitty, and as such solving most probably would possibly not proper this (regardless that it is nonetheless a well thought to do it). Just remind him in which the muddle field is a couple of occasions an afternoon by way of wearing him to it. If that does not repair it, he generally is in poor health.

He may be tring to get your attention. Animals will often do these kind of things when they are not feeling well. You may want to take the cat to a vet to test his urine for a urinary track for infections or something of that sort.

Could be a urinary tract infection. Male cats are prone to them. I'd take him to the vet just in case.
