I am trying to salvage some ceramic wall tiles but i am having difficulty removing the old adhesve without breaking the tiles .

soak in water overnight and scrape off

Are you speaking strictly of Adhesive? Perhaps on the face? OR Tile Mortar still attached to the back of the tile?

Adhesive would be removable with products like "GOOF OFF" or other such designed for the purpose.

Mortar removal cannot be accomplished by any means so far offered.

Try using Avon's Skin so soft...

I used it to remove adhesive tape which was on an Item I had purchased. It's oil breaks down the stickiness, and you can just roll it off.

Ive just had the same problem.

there was adhesive all ove the bathroom tiles.

All I used was a hair drier and it fetched it all off. :-D

soak them in water. and the grout will come off as far as adhesive you need goo gone

Blow Torch?

try using a wallpaper scraper and a hair dryer but don't have it to hot or scrap to hard good luck

soak in a bucket of warm water and then use a scraper, no problems!

NAPHTA,LACQUER REMOVER, LIGHTER FLUID, NAIL POLISH REMOVER, ACCETONE OR STUFF CALLED GOO, AVAILEABLE AT YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. GOOD LUCK.
ALSO TRY BENZINE AND CARBI-CHLOR.
