That's generally the wrong place for your liver, your liver is on your right side just below the bottom two or three ribs.

Peri-umbilical pain can be many things, the best advice I can give you is to see how it goes, if the pain persists, see your doctor or if it gets intolerable go to accident & emergency.

EDIT: Left peri-umbilical pain is not the same as right lower quadrant (or RIF) pain, it's not likely to be an appendix at this stage.

for the life of me . I dont understand why folk ask important medical questions.

opinions are a fine thing, they can give different aspects on many subjects, BUT opinions can kill you.

when something is not right with your body, or your baby's, or whoever, you dont have time to gather opinions.

You need FACTS , facts can only come from face to face contact with a suitably qualified and accountable person.

I mean no disrespect to any medical people who try and respond to such questions, but lets face it, I could say I'm a doctor or nurse, when in fact i could just be a wannabe.

your health is just too important to allow unqualified opinions dictate what you should do. so you are scared? get your self looked at, then at least if they are wrong, you have a person you can sue !

Any pain is a sign that there is a problem. One located next to the navel is unlikely to be liver or appendix but without an exam and blood work there is no way to be sure. Pain is your bodies way of telling you to seek medical attention.

the liver would be on your right side.

the pancreas (which stores blood and makes insulin) is on your far left side, part of your stomach is just left of the navel.

I would say that it is your stomach that is aching and it is nothing serious it will go away in short time, but if the pain is so much that you can't take it or it is worrying you, you should go see a doctor.

Go ask a doctor. Even if someone answers your question, you don't know if it is correct. A doctor will.
