I'd like to try hair extensions but I don't know anything about them. Can anyone tell me how much they cost, can they be coloured, are they real hair, how do they fix them on, can you brush and straighten your hair with them in and finally can anyone recommend a good salon in the Chesterfield/Sheffield area?? Ta.

There are many different types of extention you can get , maybe you should try the clip in ones before you speand all that money on glue or wax ones.
Ive had them now for a bout 6 years, i love them.
My favorite ones are when they sort weave part of your own hair in three lines at the back of your head and sow the extentions in, theres no way they these type would ever fall out.

Theres also wax tips and one you can get glued in strand by strand.

You can dye them and use headted appliences on them just like your own hair.

Good luck with whatever you pick.

Good hair extensions are done with real hair, and can cost from about £50 for a few 'hi-lite' effects to over £1000 for full heads with extra long lengths. Real Hair extensions can possibly be coloured, but I would only recommend having it done in the salon where the extensions were done. Great Lengths are a brand that have a fantastic reputation, and do the extensions of many a celeb! Try contacting them, they'll give you a salon in your area. Cheaper alternatives, or a way to 'practise' to see if you'll like it are clip-ins, some salons also do this or you can buy them and put them in yourself, but bear in mind it takes a bit of practise!

The cost can vary drastically depending on where you go and whether you have real or synthetic hair. I had hair extension for several years but have recently decided to go short!. I used to pay about £300 for three quarters of head with real hair. If you have real hair it can be coloured. They are fixed with an adhesive bond and can be brushed and straightened as you would your own hair. The downside is that you would need to get them changed every three months and it is painful when the hair extensions are removed. It also damages your hair when they are removed. You can have the extension woven into your hair but believe me they don't last very long and I think it is a waste of money. Sorry don't know any salons in your area.

well I can tell you they cost about $200-300.00. They cost so must because it takes about 6-8 hours to do. No I don't think they can be coloured because you can buy real hair or fake hair from a drug store. To fix them I think they just have to take the braid out to where it needs to be fixed and re-do that part. No you wouldn't be able to brush or straighten them. Sorry I can't recommend a hair salon for you, I am in New Brunswick.

the weave ones that celebrities placed on wreck your hair. they pull on the hair and go away you with bald patches - see the %. of victoria beckham. also they are very expensive, even although do stay in for longer than the different type of extension. the glue in ones are remarkable. I have had them for over 2 years and they have actual HELPED my hair to toughen! i had them put in continuously for about 3 months and my hair became two times as thick even as i ultimately took them out. my hairdresser (who's likewise a tricologist) suggested it really is because you at the instantaneous are unable to get correct to the basis even as brushing, washing, straightening and so on so your roots are able to toughen in a way they would not in any respect usually be able to. they might want to be redone on typical each and every 2 weeks yet they are lower priced and a chain will very last about a year in case you shelter them. in spite of the indisputable fact that, continually have them put in by technique of a specialist and dont attemp;t to do them your self or getting a buddy to do them. it really is how ppl wreck their hair with extensions. the clip in ones would pull your hair out somewhat yet as they are undemanding to get rid of and are available out on the best of daily they don't seem going to do a lot lengthy time period damage on your hair. they dont seem almost as good or as genuine as the different 2 sorts although and also you may in a lot of situations tell even as someone is wearing them.

If someone pulls your hair they'll fall out!

Plus...some can't be styled the same as the rest of your hair!

Gotta be pretty careful!
