Is it a psychological or spiritual experience?

My favorite is probably putting on some non-distracting music (Plastikman is my preference for this) and dancing around until I fall over. Usually takes an hour or so.

Most effective...isn't legal, which I think answers that nicely. Not my favorite, though, as it's harder to do quite a few things.

I'm very dubious about deity being omnipresent, omniscient, all that. Divinity, on the other hand, is often mistaken for deity.

I practise my faith for psychological reasons. It makes me feel good, allows me to express my creativity, and allows me to tap into the more primitive forms of expression.

I also practise my faith for spiritual reasons. I believe in energies and lifeforces, as hippy as it sounds, and the fundemental metaphysical forces that shape things we cant quite see.

My favourite way of achieving 'other' conciousnesses? Well, I've never tried it, but I believe 'drug' use is an effective way, as long as it is done safely and in small quanities. As long as the material in question is purely natural and not modified. There's more to the rainbow than black and white, after all, and theres more to the brain than chemicals and flesh.

I usually, however, meditate and use incense. I make my own incense, as I find it calming and more effective when I meditate.

I do not truly believe in any all-powerful beings, be they Gods or Goddesses, but more I pay my respects to Them as leaders, as figureheads, as facets of human nature. As such, when I meditate, it is purely psychological.

To the girl above me: "Look for Gods signs to you. and never ever claim or even THINK that you know something, the path to God..lies in knowing...you know nothing...and all you know..comes from Him.

The minute you start thinking you know something...your ego will take over..and blind your thinking."

Sounds like a good dose of Socrates dashed with nihilism and applied to religion to me. I don't believe in plagarism to make people listen to you. :)

Its both.

My psychology affects how I approach the world, and how far I go on the upward path to God spiritually.

I read once: there are as many ways to God as the number of people on earth, but there is only one way from God to all humans. The task, is to merge your personal way (call it style) with that which is coming from God.

This can only happen through constant listening. Listen to your heart. Listen to your surroundings. Look for Gods signs to you. and never...ever...claim or even THINK that you know something...the path to God..lies in knowing...you know nothing...and all you know..comes from Him.

The minute you start thinking you know something...your ego will take over..and blind your thinking.
