Is it in your mouth or stomach?
Mouth - Many mouth ulcers clear up within a week of first showing up. They can be highly uncomfortable, but gargling saltwater or using a topical gel such as Kenacomb, or Bonjella may help!
Stomach - Stomach ulcers are caused by a little bacteria known as H.pylori. To be treated, antibiotics are used to kill of the bacteria and prevent it from spreading. When you go to the doctor they may discuss symptoms with you and prescribe an anti-ulcerative (Nexium, Losec, Acimax) drug along with an antibiotic.
They may also refer you to an gastroentinologist who may do an endoscopy to have a look at the stomach and what may be causing the discomfort. These are easy procedures, that provide quick and clear results!

When you go to the doctor for it they are going to give you something to drink called Barium. It tastes like chalk. They have to take ex rays to see if there is one in there, however, there are newer ways to have this done.
They can do an Ultrasound on your stomach which is a machine with a cord on it that they rub along your stomach. A few days after the test you will get the answers from either of these two tests and will know for sure if you have an Ulcer. So if the doctor says that you need an upper GI do not panic it is just drinking the stuff and them taking x rays.
Don't expect your doctor to do this on the first visit because they normally have to set a date and a time to do the test. Don't worry so much it won't help you any. Hope that everything turns out alright.

I do not know much about medicines but I know certainly that ulcer can be cured by doing Nauli Kriya ( an yogic exercise) every day and you can see the results within 15 days. Mind you I am not simply telling without facts, more than 1000 students of mine who had ulcer problems got cured by this exercise within 2 months.
