Catholics read the Bible for 1,200 years before Protestants existed. Why wouldn't we? The Bible belongs to the Catholic Church. It was compiled by Catholic bishops, and approved by a Catholic Pope, for the sole purpose of use within the Catholic Church. Those who have borrowed the book from the Catholic Church have consistently demonstrated their inability to interpret it correctly. When I read the Holy Bible I see a Church that is ONE, even as Jesus and His heavenly Father are ONE, a church united in teaching, united in beliefs, united in worship, not a manmade tradition fragmented into thousands of conflicting denominations. I'll continue to read the Bible as Catholics have always done, and I'll continue to look to God's holy Church, the biblical pillar and foundation of truth, for correct and authoritative interpretation. Leave God's Church for the doctrinal chaos of manmade denominational religion? No. I don't think so.

Because the mysteries of the rosary seemed to skip over Jesus' ministry.
The Joyful Mysteries were about his birth up to the finding in the temple.
The sorrowful Mysteries were about his death on the cross.
The Glorious Mysteries were about his ressurection.
The most important part -- what he came here to teach us -- was missing.

Before they were added, Jesus' life and ministry weren't in there.
And to people who say Catholicism is not Christian, I most emphatically assure you: IT IS! I am in the process of converting to Roman Catholicism because I read the Bible, and soon understood that the Church was the Holy and Apostolic Church. Catholicism's doctrine's only seem odd when you read them with a sola scriptura mind frame.

The Catholic Church is always doing things that are not in the Bible...
They tend to do a lot of contrary things and have a lot of contrary ideas... (genuflecting to an idol before you sit in the pews, praying to the Virgin Mary, praying to Saints)...
If most Catholics would READ thier Bibles, they would become Protestants!!! They would "know" better...
There is no "mystery", what JESUS did as a child, was unimportant, it was HIS ministry that was the message, and HIS Death, Burial, and Resurection, that was the final message to all...
I wish you well..

Because the Rosary didn't include contemplation about His life...just his birth and death
