Why do we have to generalize? I claim no more knowledge of the bible than any other religious person. I simply believe what I have read to be the truth. To each his own. Shalom.

I didn't know that Christians thought they new the Bible better than the Jews, or anyone else for that matter. I am a Christian and the son of a Lurheran minister. I have studied the bible for years and still do not understand most of it.
The Old Testament is extremely difficult in places, while the New Testament is probably a wee bit more understandable.
Most of the Bible is wide open to interpretation which makes things even more difficult.
Our minds are not capable of true understanding of the creatiion, life after death, heaven, hell, etc. All we can do is love God, love our neighbors, believe, and have faith.

EXCELLENT QUESTION.
Not only have the Jews been studying the Bible for millenia, we have been studying it in the original Hebrew. It is the only way to study the books Christians refer to as the Old Testament.

Christians are soo messed up. Its dangerous. Jesus died for our sins. Yea, let him take all the blame for their wrong doings. As long as you accept jesus as ur saviour, You can do whatever you like. You will go to heaven. Whats all the deadly sins abt then? They say we are abt love, we dnt get angry.lol. Its sad. Those who say we are like this not like that, change their views all the time. Or sex before marriage was not allowed for the ppl back 'then' but its ok for us. Talk abt picking and choosing. Minister, jews and christians aint alike coz u forgot, the jews dnt believe in the trinity.

yes, jews spend their entire lives devoted to reading the bible. any christian who comes to us and claims to know more about it than we do just looks silly. as well we read it in hebrew as it was originally written*, not corrupt translations of it which have been tampered with to suit people's agendas... despite being a world away and having little contact with each other, a torah scroll in china is identical to a torah scroll in north america... there are so many christian translations out there that its just ludicrous
*except for me of course, cuz my hebrew is crappy, but its getting better as i work on it

Jews, and Christians are both of the same root. We share much the same Holy Scriptures,(The Books of Moses, and the Prophets).
Truth is, we have very much in common, including we both expect Messiah to come. We expect Him to come again, they are still waiting for Him to come once.
But Moses, and the Prophets spoke of Messiah coming, suffering, and dieing. There is no interpretation there, it is very evident. Over 700 Prophetic writing's point to Messiah being Jesus .
May God Bless Israel !

The Bible is a Spiritual Book FIRST, everything Else is Second.
To Understand Spiritual Things---You Have to be Born-Again.
If a Person is Born-Again, that Person will be Able to Understand FAR MORE then the Not Born-Again Person-----The Bible Explains this in Terms that a Not Born-Again Person can Understand ("everthing Else").
A Person who calls him,her-self a "Christian" SHOULD at LEAST be Born-Again.

This is true. But generally the meaning is there. I don't believe the Jews study the New Testament.

I don't think that we think we are better in our interpretations, we are just coming at it from an attitude of faith in Jesus Christ, and I suppose that makes a big difference in how we see the scriptures.

your very right
the problem is people dont want to know and the Church made very strong efforts to eliminate Jewish thought or traditions from the early Christianity so they could use their interpretations and feed the masses what ever they wanted.
