at the furlong pop rock looked a certainty but when he got to delta blues delta eyeballed him and toughed it out and pop rock was getting the staggers and was purely outstayed, if the race was another 100m i still dont think he would have gotten there
And dont forget the pull in the weights pop rock had over delta blues so i dont think an excuse can be found.
oh btw i give oli 10/10 for the ride

Horses bump into one another all the time and when that happens the horses have to regain their momentum. Did Damien Oliver make a certain move that made Pop Rock shift, we don't know, and sometimes a horse will over respond to a jockey's command. That was a beautiful race with an ending as surprising as the Breeders' Cup's with Invasor winning over the all time favorite Bernardini.

No i would say pop rock was over excited when closing on the finish line and seeing the end he has never run the 3200m in his life to make it worse he had never run in race conditions at flemmington. wish he did win though i had a win/eachway on him. would have got 7 times my money
