Lots. A whole lot. Very very many. Hinduism alone recognizes a few million--they may actually have one of the more accurate numbers, as Hinduism recognizes gods of other religions as well.

There are many, many recognised gods in the world. Look at the many religions that worship multiple gods. As a Pagan, I view the different gods as the many personalities or aspects of the one Divine entity. The easiest way to think of it is like "The Force" in Star Wars. People break it down into different personalities to humanise it. Since the Divine is so all encompassing, its easier to relate to with a name and human form.

if you're refering to gods as someone or something that has control over the lives of people then there is so many, and they don't even have to be a person. It could be anything; tv, job, family, employer, career or so many other things. HOwever if you're refering to THE God, as in the Supreme Being, then there is only one. Think about it, logically there can only be One true Supreme Being because if there is two, then both of them cannot be supreme, since there is another who is their equal.

There is only one and only Almighty,God Allah in the world. What makes you think there are more than one. If it is so, the world will be in a mess, there will be no survivor on earth.

One and Only!
How can every believer feel the same feelings about God and there can be lots of Gods? He is the One so He gives the same feelings to all believers equally.

None - they all live elsewhere, like heaven, Hell, Valhalla, Hades, etc.

And don't you just love the way Christians come steaming in with their "one God and he's ours" mantra to answer a question about the diversity of our world?

The word "god" means Having the Authority to Choose and Speak your own words.
The Creator is a God.
Human Beings are gods (only to this Point).
satan broke rank and Chose to Speak his own words.
The Creator calls satan "the god of this World" because he spoke hs own words---AND Adam went for it, and let the devil gain Authority in the Earth.
satan was Kicked out of Heaven and Damned (out of GODs Presence) because he chose his Own Words. (Disobeyed---High Treason for Angels).

through belief, too many too count, through alot of peopel none coz god isnt on earth. if anyone tells u there is only one true god then they would look petty foolish if they died that god didnt exsist.
if u have faith thats good on them but if u have no proff dont state it as a fact.

Ultimately there is only one God. In the way a diamond refracts light in to an array of colours, there is one God but he has different names and manifestations according to how we wish to see Him.

gods with a small g means things like money, sex etc that people kind of bow down to. They are evil things. and they are many

God with a capital G is only one and he lives in Heven with all the saints, Jesus and His mother Mary.
