My favorite is the decemberists and i listen to them in my car, my computer, ipod, everywhere...even as i go to sleep. it affects and takes up my time and i realize it but i like listening to the songs over and over again and singing along. i should be studying and doing other things...

its like someone addicted to the internet but this is to a particular band. i dont know how to stop. i keep listening to them and have tried to stop but it just doesnt work. its like smoking and tobacco, and the songs are my fuel.

it affects me especially when it comes to study time and i tell myself i will study hard for exams but rather i end up just searching for live concerts of the band and download different live shows.

they're my favorite band and dont want to stop listening to them but i do agree that i listen to them too much.

i have like 3 different cd's of the band, all the same songs just sang at different concert venues...its all i listen to. help!!!!

please., this is serious to me.

Alright here is the scoop on it. You probably have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, because you do the same thing over and over and over. I have it too and can never get enough of The Doors.....especially Jim Morrison.

I have cut myself way back now and all I do now pretty much is clean my house (part of the OCD) and watch television and sit on this computer all of the time. I am Bipolar too and am on a lot of medications for that and I don't to go outside a lot because of it.

Give yourself a break get your work done then listen to the band. That will give you more time at night to listen to them. Good Luck

Are they harming you?

Are they harming your social life?

Are they doing anything bad to you?

If not, why stop listening?

If you just MUST break the addiction, plan a no-technology camping trip with your buddies. One cell phone for emergencies (NOT an mp3 one, mind you!), one air pump if you have inflatable mattresses, a few flash lights, and that's it. Get away from computers and other music players. That should help break your addiction. Then, when you get back to the real world, listen to bands of completely different genres. Heck, listen to Beethoven if you want. You'll expand your interests, but you won't have to give up your favorite band.

this is what being a fan is all about.don't sweat ti you taper off and still enjoy them. i'm so addicted to ALTER BRIDGE it's crazy and at first i was resentful 'cause i thought they were "disrepecting the memory" of scott stapp like he was dead or something.but, now they're my favorite band next to armored saint and sevendust i had to listen everyday, everywhere, now i 'mjust listening a couple times a week. i still love them as much as ever but,now i appreciate their music more.make a conscience decision to space the time you listen to them out.you can do it. try just listening at home not outside.
