I just recently got a prescription for Yasmin that I will start on November 19th. My boyfriend and I have talked about having sex without a condom once I get on birth control. When is it okay to start having sex without a condom once I start my pill? I have thought of waiting till he gets back from his training session December 15th to start having sex with him when using the birth control pills to let it be in my system almost a month. What are the chances of getting pregnant when on the pill? What are the chances of my boyfriend staying with me if I did get pregnant using the pill when he doesn't believe in having children without being married first? (I also agree it's best to have children only when married).

You both do not sound very stable, sweetie. He does not sound very committed to me. You need to ask your doctor the medical questions and not rely on Yahoo people.

I agree with westwind's opinion. If you are having these unsure feelings then you really should put off having sex at this stage.

NEVER, EVER, EVER have sex without using a condom whether you are on the pill or not! Unless you and your boyfreind are tested for sexually transmitted diseases, there is never a good time to not use a condom....even if you both do get tested, I would still not recommend that sex without a condom be practiced. If you are 100% absolutely, positively, without a doubt on earth that you and your boyfriend will remain monogamous, (and get tested if either one of you has been sexually active before this relationship with-or- without using protection, and been proven clear of any STD's) would I suggest you have sex using only the pill....

I applaud the sensibility you appear to be using by seeking answers to the questions you are unsure about. Please be careful.

The very best protection against pregnancy is an Aspirin !!! Why an Aspirin? Because you hold it between your knees and you can't get pregnant - guaranteed !!! On a more sincere note. Yes; you CAN get pregnant while using birth control pills. You need other protection for prevention, too !!! If your boyfriend doesn't believe in having children before marriage, why is he screwing with you for? Does this reasoning give him an "out" in the event that you get pregnant? ... Stay with the Aspirin !!!

About a month to make sure the pill is in your system. But I do warn you. I did get pregnant using the pill. And it was my fault. And you have to be carefull. You have to make sure you take the pill everyday at the same time. Even 30 mins may throw it off. So if you take it right and wait a month for it to be in your system than you 2 should be just fine. And if your bf loves you as I'm sure he does. If by chance you got pregnant on accident than he shouldn't tuck his tail and run. I'm sure you wouldn't do that on purpose. Good luck....

There are no guarantees with anything. Keep using the condoms.
