i have a JR Terrier mix and he barks at noises, which makes him an excellent guard dog !! that is what they are supposed to do, bark at noises...if he does this excessively, you can sit down next to him and comfort him, and tell him everthing is OK...this may reduce excessive barking !! other than that, the dog is just being a good guard dog, by barking when he hears something noisy or strange....he is just being a dog !!!

They are temperamental and are just like that. It is actually a very good thing, sign of good health, etc. I love Jack Russells!

when u hear noises dont react then the dog may learn from your behavior. i had a collie cross that barked at his own shadow he did calm down as he got older. hope yours does :)
