loteria nacional from spain claims I won $85,000. Enclosed check from business"sponsor" to help defray costs of taxes. Would deliver money to door, without any account info necessary. If this is a scam, we should set them up to deliver prizes and have police waiting for them. I wouldn't let anyone give me that much money without someone with me anyway. What if this is legit? If it isn't then we get together to catch the creeps. I say is it okay to cash the very legal check to help "catch a thief"? Please reply asap I only have 24 hours from today to respond ......thanks

Call the Spanish embassy and ask them about it.

There are many advanced payment scams out there.

The first link below gives a list of Spanish Lottery scamster's addresses.

Note: Why would a Lottery only give you 24 hours to respond?

I wouldn't want to give my address to a potential scammer. Many have been physically hurt or worse by Nigerian scammers.

Be safe. Don't give your address, phone number, or banking details to strangers.

Have then meet you at the police station or sheriff's office. :")

If you were to take the check to the bank and cash it in and take the money and spend it, then when the check bounces and the bank is holding a bad check, the bank will come back to you for the amount of the check. Besides, banks will not cash out a large amount of money like that. What they will do is to take and hold the check until they determine if the check is good or bad and only then could you get the money amount of the check..

Do not try to cash that check whatsoever. It woud be nice to have the cops sitting and waiting on them to show up if they do not wouldn't it?
