Muslims do not need to lie to protect their faith for 2 reasons:
1- It's a religion that was set by God not a human being, so it's perfect, exactly like the other 2 Abrahamic religions.
2- It's still intact with no human alteration unlike Christianity (no offense meant, but this is part of our belief about Christianity at the time of prophet Meohammed (pbuh)).
I know you may ask why I follow Islam if I think that all 3 Abrahamic religions are perfect. The other 2 religions were sent during specific time & for specific people, unlike Islam which is sent as the last message from God.
Lies are allowed sometimes (e.g., as a part of a strategy during wars). Such lies are allowed in each belief I guess.

Perfect...never need to lie....ha, ha, ha.
As I recall the 5 MUSLIM terrorists that murdered over 3000 people by flying jet aircraft into the WTC LIED on their flight school applications in order to be accepted. And since they lied in order to carry out their war against the infidels that proves that Muslims have no problem lying and their "religion" is far from perfect.
And to all of you who claim that Muslims NEVER lie? So that means you believe every thing that Saddam, who is a Muslim, has said and is saying? He told his sons-in-law that they wouldn't be harmed if they returned to Iraq. Then he had them murdered....another lie by a Muslim.

Muslims never lie, they always say the truth, its not necessary that wht doen't match with your believes is always a lie.make a broad view of things.and try to be tolerant to other religions.
edit : no thats wrong, islam never offer a thing which later needs a protection of "lie"..islam is based on "Truth" n doen't need any shield of "lie" ....lying is disliked in islam.one should always be truthful, this is wht my religion tells.
edit : okay, got it ....never meant to offence....sorry !!!

Sometimes it is OK to tell a white lie to protect someone. Especially if you know they do not deserve what would happen if the truth were known.
