Trade is a powerful bargaining tool for a country in need of military hardware and technology. It is a weapon being used by China to force the USA to supply its military. Americans beware of the future in China's development.

What is apparent is that the world is currently dominated by a single military power. This dominance has had adverse effects on many countries. Very shortly China will have a military potential on par with America and an economy to match it. Then we will experience a world where decisions to invade other countries won't be made simply 'at the drop of a pen'. The irony of the emergence of China as a military super power is that it will indirectly enforce more democracy throughout the world even though it is a Communist country.

Conservatives are by nature leery of change that is in part why they are known as conservatives. It would be nice if each side in the matter could lessen the attacks on each other and develop some constructive and viable solutions. Conservatives are concerned about how planned changes will effect the economic well being of society. How effective are alternative sources of energy and how can new sources be phrased in without to much disruption to society. It is not really corporate greed or just a desire to counter liberals, cons want society to prosper. Liberals need global warming to be true I guess because since they cannot run the world they feel a need to try to save it, which is okay I guess. Just let conservatives provide some balance to question some of the more extreme global warming fanatics.

They are a growing country indeed. The 'Asian Tiger' is now unstoppable economically. However, as a country it has many social and logistical problems.
But why is it a bad thing for a nother country to have more economic power? Good for them I think. I mean look at how a militaristic nation such as America treats the world. It is a selfish and inward looking economy with no other interests at heart than its own - should this be allowed to continue?
I believe that for any system to be effective power must be fluid so that there is no room for autocracy.
What we see now is many western powers allying themselves fibnancially with China as the US is in decline. This is just the way of the world - bad for the US- good for the world.

Inmyopinion, China has a strong industrious people and devote their time to see an economical powerful states. They also have a strong tie among people since their race came from same background of Mongols. In military science is also advanced and the trading system is based on uninterferance on the politics of countries rather they want mutual benefits. this is the reason why simply penetrates in most developing nations of the world especially in Africa

1. A sale of arms involves a beneficial-to-the-economy export-related inflow of money. If countries A B & C won't sell to China, then China buys what it needs off countries D E & F instead. Therefore, saying no more arms sales to any country could harm us (through loss of export-revenue) more than it harms the intented target.
2. Unlike the US & the UK, the China has no history of invading countries (other than areas that now form Wetern China which was similar to the Russian, Australian and Canadian early expansions). I think most people in the UK still fear & dread the orders given to the UK armed forces more than fearing China, as it is our armed forces that are active in Asia now.
Having said that, the Iraq & Afghanistan campaign does have some noble aims (plus possibly many nasty/taking-over-control selfish aims - we do not know for sure).
3. I would be extremely surprised if, as you suggest, the Barbie dolls, toy cars, IPods, etc. we are buying, were manufactured in army bases. Please reexamine that theory. I think you will find that the Chinese toy companies are just as ethically credible and good-versus-bad neutral as ours are.
And 4. Yes, China's economy is growing from year to year, but it is a slow motion approach from a long way behind the G7/OECD countries. Theirs is not the only economy that is growing dramatically from one decade to the next - hence many other nations too may one day potentially become potential military threats if push comes to shove.

That is just a fact of life. Did you know that once Rome was a superpower? America was nowhere at the time! Did you know that China was a superpower thousands of years ago, when there was nothing in Europe (and of course the USA was absolutely nothing but some tribal indians jumping about happily).
I'm not trying to scare you but I don't think those factories belong to the army at all. They belong to rich business people who have nothing to do with the army. The army in China is not compulsory. I don't think that by getting cheap goods from there you are, in fact, contributing to the wealth of their army.

America has exploited the rest of the world for capital and strategic gain for years and years. Now that the rest of the developing world are rapidly gaining in terms of infrastructure, America is getting the jitters, and rightly so. China has not threatened America with military conflict, has it? No. what it has done is this, it has turned round to the US and everyone else, who once ridiculed the "MADE IN CHINA" mark and is now saying. "Not Anymore" were here to take you on. A fair fight is something the US has never had, well, it`s got one coming. The Chinese are playing the US at it`s own game, and will probably win.

Yes, true. Make sure whatever government the American people vote for, don't screw around China and the surrounding far eastern region by military means. There is always room for diplomacy if "problems" arise.
