A boil is an abcess, nothing more and nothing fancier, although it usually involves an infected hair follicle or sweat gland. There is no way to "remove" it, it has to drain. If yours is still hard and red, it is not ready to drain yet, and needs to be left be. If it is red and hard, your doctor can decide to give you antibiotics, but most usually they do nothing more at that point. You will be sent home to apply moist heat to the affected area, and wait for it to "ripen", that is to turn soft, and have a white spot of pus collect at the top of the boil. At this point, it will either drain of it's own accord, or a doctor can lance it to drain. Once it drains, the body will usually heal the skin quite well itself.
The only thing you can do is apply moist heat to the area to hasten the softening process and help the body isolate the infection to the one spot. When this happens, you will actually see a white/yellow spot gather at the central top point of the spot. Keep applying the moist heat, and it will break and drain on it's own. Don't be tempted to try to lance it on your own, either by pinching at it or poking it with a pin.
You don't want to apply any kind of creams, lotions or potions to it. You can simply use hot water soaked wash cloths to apply heat to the area, the skin isn't going to recieve any benefit by using anything else. Wash the rest of you with an antibacterial soap, meantime. Eat a good healthy diet, and drink plenty of fluids. A boil will usually ripen withing 3-4 days, with heat applications, and drain all on it's own without anything else needed. Although it's painful in the waiting, once it drains it should feel immensely better.
If it is very large you can see the doctor to get antibiotics. He won't be able to do anything for you otherwise, until it is ready to drain. When it does drain, you will also probably notice a rather foul odor from it, the bacteria which is the leading cause is staph, which is smelly by nature. Also, when it does start to drain, be careful to wash yourself with the antibacterial wash to prevent spreading the infection to other spots of the body. Staph is normally on the skin, but if it gets into the skin it can cause problems again. It can get into any other cuts, scratches, or spots you have, and into the eyes/nose as well. Be very careful to keep the skin in the area clean until it heals, and be very careful to wash your hands well after touching it. Sorry not to have better solutions for you- this is the only one, and it's mostly just to use heat and wait. Hope you don't have long to wait, and that it drains fairly quickly for you.

You do not remove it. The way to heal it is to let it continue it's natrual process until it ruptures and then drain it. If you care to accelerate the process go to a Whole Food or Health Store and get a bottle of Silicea 6X (One of the 12 Tissue Salts). After 'succusing' the bottle take 3-4 tablets and let them dissolve under your tongue (there is no taste). Then in 3-4 days take another dose then set back and watch the healing process. Do not mess with it. Also purchase some Calendula ointment to place on and around the boil both before and after Rupturing. This process may take up to a week or 10 days but once it is finished you will never know you had a boil. There should be no scar left.
P.S. Do not take cofffe, tea, alcohol, tabacco or other strong foods/substances for at least one hour before and one hour after taking the remedy. It will anti-dote the remedy if you do.

There are a lot of articles about removing a boil that you can find in the internet. As advised by my doctor before, boils normally go away or rapture on its own in 3 days to a week. My advice to you is to let it be as long as it is not growing on a sensitive part of your body which is an inconvenience to you.

Applying medicines or remedy might worsen the boil.

If you want to do this yourself or have some one help you you squeeze the boil and stand back from it as far as possible as the core will slide out and release any puss inside then put plenty of some antibiotic in and on it it should be ok keep it covered for a couple of days checking all is ok.

the answer to go to your doctor is the best idea. depending on where it is and just how irritated it has gotten could determine whether you should mess with it. Many times warm baths or hot packs will bring it to a head , and you may be able to drain it yourself. But this can further irritate it , and if you are then unable to drain it yourself the pain can get pretty intense, you also need to be care full that it does not break [ or pop ] inside. If that happens it spreads and can enter the blood stream and become a cellulitis , cellulitis is very pain full and will require antibiotics, and need to be cut and drained. So, like i said your best bet is to go to your doctor. good luck, and take care.

as weird as it sounds it works...

heat up a little bit of milk in the microwave as hot as you can stand it. wrap a peice of bread in a soft cloth, dip it in the milk and hold it on your boil untill it starts to cool down. keep dipping and holding it on your boil

it sucks the poison out some how. and it works beter if the boil is open.
