I am 18 years old and my pal and i want to rent a hotel overnight. I'm 18, she is 17.
I don't have any type of credit card... But I do have my driver's license...
Besides A drivers' license and the money (check or cash will be probably be our pay method) is there anything else we'll be asked to have or show? (credit card? etc?)

THANKS!!!

most hotels require a credit card...what they do is swipe it and if there are any problems in the room after you leave they charge the cost to the card.....you may want to pre call the hotel that you would like to stay at and ask what they will require....state you dont have a credit card...they may accept some sort of bond....

Hmm! If you are a tourist, you would be required to show your passport before being given an accommodation. However, if you are in your locale, it would depend on the hotel policy. For example, a 5-star hotel might ask you for identification documents. But I believe your drivers license would suffice. You will be required an advanced payment, just don't know what percentage of the room rate.

Tips/Warnings:

Local phone calls maybe chargeable like international calls.
It's expensive to order in. It's cheaper to dine outside a hotel.
The food/beverage in the room refrigerator is not free.
Soap/Shampoo/Comb/Razor in the bathroom is free, you may take it home as souvenir (except the linen)
Attendants make-up your bed in the morning so always keep your valuables inside the safety vault (if provided).

I just stayed at a hotel recently, and NO you don't have to have a credit card. Most of them just require cash and a drivers license.

you will probably have to pay up front in cash - and perhaps
leave a security deposit for the phone or tv movies

call the hotel/motel in question as each chain or proprietor may
have different rules concerning this question.

also you did not state if the room was local or 'out of town'
some establishments will not rent to locals

maybe a guarantor, someone who is legally an adult to sign (18 -21 depending on where you are) a parent or guardian would be best
