Purely as a sort of 'add-on', chuck a couple of soluble aspirins in it at the same time and you've got yourself a blackcurrant "Lem-Sip" !!!
Something else I remember as a kid was Ribena with equal milk - but only a saucer-ful. Eat/drink it simply by coating a teaspoon with it (NOT a teaspoonFUL) - it's a good way of getting vitamin C and some milk into a "fussy" eater !
Hope nobody knocks this one for not being a question - there should even be a category for "useful tips" I reckon, not subject to the 'question' rules.

Good shout; the last time I had that was when I was a poor, skint student. I had a stinking cold and couldn't be bothered to wash any cups up, so I ended up having a saucepan full of the stuff. Absolutely brilliant, sorted the cold right out with a couple of aspirin in it too!

I just love the way when you've come on with quite a useful bit of information, somebody has come on and run most of the way down all the postings with a "thumbs down". What the point in doing that is is open to question.

You're absolutely right - but I find it too sweet now. When I was a little girl and was off school with some bug or other - ill enough to stay in bed (honest), my father would make me a thermos flask of hot 'beena' - enough to last til lunchtime when I had tinned tomato soup ...

And, try dumping some Ribena into your tea. Blackcurrant tea is best.
Works well with iced tea, too...

So good, and if it goes cold it doesn't matter because it's Ribena!

I've done this many times and i agree.
As you said yourself, it's not a question and someones bound to report you for a violation, there's just some really sad people about.
