think what im trying to say is extremists are giving the rest a bad name and the rest have to suffer so if the rest had to be made accountable for the extremists fractions then perhaps Muslims could sort out Muslims and of course if somebody attacks you you have the right to defend but i was thinking more diplomatic reasoning than blowing the c*ap out of every thing

Your quetions have brought questions forward in me like......Does it say anywhere in the Quran to go and hurt others who dont follow Islam?? Because if it doesnt, why does it happen and if it does then how can Islam's Allah be praised for such things?

Here's a nice recent bit from Iraq that may shed a bit of light on the subject:

"Some 85 percent of the population (the Shia and Kurds) are violently opposed to such a group. And polls have consistently shown that the vast majority of Sunnis dislike Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. The real jihadists in Iraq are a small and unpopular band that relies on terror and violence to gain strength."

Newsweek, Nov. 6; Rethinking Iraq: The Way Forward

Seriously, there's no reason to worry that every Muslim is a terrorist, unless you're also worrying about everyone you meet being a child molester, rapist, or murderer--and actually with the numbers right now, you'd be *more* justified in worrying about that.

I'm in Australia and I hate the fact we are segregated due to religion and race. I feel that if left up to there own group to sort out the bad eggs would only cause more segregation. We need to deal with people as a community or country. If you choose to live in australia, you choose our ideals and lifestyles regardless of race, sex or religion. I hate the fact that people tell me that they feel sorry for me because I live in a black neighbourhood. I was in a muslim neighbourhood prior to here. I think we need to understand that no matter what community you live in you have to understand the cultures and not fear them. We are all australians at the end of the day so deal with the issues as a country.

I think a lot depends on whose ox is being gored.

If the Muslims are attacking other Muslims that is primarily a matter for Muslims to resolve.

When they attack non-Muslims it becomes the business of other people.

When non-Muslims attack Muslims (as in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan, India,…), you shouldn’t expect that Muslims will Just watch.
