many people believe that they are both responsible, i also believe so but i have to find reasons why only men or only women should be responsine for birth control in terms of morality, science or whatever it is. You may also list the advantages and disadvantages of birth control for women and of course for men, if you like to help me
Actually, i'll have a debate in class and the topic is "men should be responsible for birth control" so i need to find "for" and "aganist" ideas

The woman should. It's her body and she's the one who carries the child. They can't rely on a man to always be prepared so they have to.

Well I think that both should be responsible for it. Obviously it is a lot easier for a woman to be on the pill or some other form of birth control, and a guy should always where a condom (unless your married). Just because a girl should be on the pill if she's having sex dosent mean that the guy shouldnt ask about it. The guy should be responsible enough to make sure his partner is on some type of birth control and wear a condom. The girl should be responsible enough to be on birth control and make the guy wear a condom.

Men should be responsible for birth control, due to the double standard of a world we live in. If a woman gets pregnant and does not want a child, she has options to take care of it, whether it be abortion or adoption. Now if a man does not want the child, he does not have any options, he is still stuck with a child and has to pay child support even though he did not want a child, and the woman keeps it. Even if he signs away his parental rights, the mother can still go after him for child support. Like I said before, it is a double standard, a man should be able to walk away free and clear like a woman does, but due to the double standard, he cannot. That is why it should a man responsibility when it comes to birth control.

I think both people are responsible for protecting themselves against unwanted pregnancy. We all have to protect ourselves and know that nothing but abstinence is fool proof. It seems that a lot of men tend to leave this up the woman, but it's their responsiblity as well. This link covers just about every type of birth control imaginable and some issues involved with this topic.
Hope it helps..

BOTH!
It takes two to tango - remembering that birth control is not 100%
e.g., previous question/response in last hour - the new mother
was using BC and a condom.
So, The woman needs to address the issue AND if the guy just
wants to be a sperm donor rather than a father, then our lady
needs to throw him back in the pool and try again. She doesn't
need that loser.

The only way the woman can be sure - is if she does birth control. Too many men disappear if there is an accident and its often the woman, or girl in school, who has their life changed due to trying to address the pregnancy issues - alone.

It is the responsibility of both men and women however, it's the woman who will ultimately pay the physical, emotional, and financial price for not using birth control if she doesn't want children. NOTHING will happen to the man except him supposedly paying child support IF he can be found.

I think that it is the responsability of both to discuss and decide what would be the best method of birth control for them. It can vary from situation to situation. Such as, if they are in a long term relationship or marriage and are sure that both are clean of STDs then it would be different than say someone you just hook up with for a weekend. But if you are just going to hook up once or twice - then you should be certain he is wearing a condom and she is protected with another form of birth control. If you are old enough to be having sex, then you are old enough to be responsible for your actions. If you can't discuss sex with your partner, you shouldn't be having sex with your partner. Just my thoughts on it.

Both should be responsible but that is not reality in this day and age.
When a pregnancy is unwanted, they blame the female.
The ultimate burden of responsibility falls upon the woman...even though it is simpler for a man to take care of it....unfair don't ya think?

Both ... but it is easier for men to use condoms... for women... pills /patches of any kind have side effects.
So, the woman should opt for the pill only if the man is not comfortable with the condom

Men should always be prepared with a condom. However, if it is a long term relationship, the couple be able to discuss other alternatives (the pill, et al.)
