I should have been a bit more detailed. I currently have my RHCE, just wanting some opinion here. Leaving this question open a bit longer...

I currently use Gentoo Linux on my laptop, but I would not recommend it if you do not have a fast machine, as it is source-based and all packages are compiled before they are installed. This is both the best and worst part of the distribution :)

If you don't have the patience to compile everything, I recommend Debian, which has en even better package management system than Gentoo, but can download pre-compiled binaries. I would run it in the unstable branch, though to get the latest and greatest software.

I use to use Kubuntu, but I never could find how to update it, so I switched to Ubuntu; it automatically tells you when updates are available. Love it!!
