Both. Organic food is always better because it has a higher nutrient content due to better soil practices. If you feed your soil you feed your plants. However you should always be sure that something is edible before you eat it.

When they are picked fresh from plants that have not been sprayed is when they are best. This could mean organic.Flowers tend to wilt pretty fast so freshness is very important.
My favorites are Violets(Viola), Day Lillys(Hemerocallus), Nasturtium(the flower is in the same family as Watercress and has a similar flavour), Squash flowers(from the vegetable), Rose petals are decorative and exotic but I find that the bases of the petals need to be removed to avoid bitterness. I used to use flowers in salads and on sandwiches quite a bit. Day Lilly is not a real Lilly and you also should taste before you gathjer much from a plan. They can vary from mild and pleasant to a coarse kind of hotness, the flower pods can be a nice vegetable too.
