Boy age 7 is on dilantin and topomax which is not helping much. doctors are suggesting surgery, tried several other drugs and did not help. He is not eating good and is very thin. 3 to 4 petit mal seizures per day which look more like post tramatic stress disorder.

See an epileptologist, get a thorough work-up. A pateint conference needs to be held to determine the need and possible benefit from surgery.
Surgery can help depending on the clinical profile, MRI data and video EEG info.
