Imagine if God filmed your whole life, brought it back in time to "now" and let you watch it. Is your life suddenly predestined because of time travel?
You are not a puppet in a play following the master’s script. If a baby never gets up and walks, then eventually runs and leaps over obstacles, then they will never get a chance to have fun in sports. Yes, working hard to overcome obstacles give us the chance to develop agility & strength and provides us with a sense of accomplishment and self worth. God wants you to feel good about yourself and to be happy. You wouldn’t keep a child away from a jungle-gym. So pray hard, work well, love and bring joy into the world. It cannot be seen in your future if you don't make it happen in the first place.

wittybaby,
This really sucks that I have to tell you this. I am embarassed because of those that are Christian that are so inept at answering questions like this one.
It is 'more' natural to be able to do things that are considered 'pyschic' than it is to not be psychic. We lost contact with the way we could be because sin makes us lose the connection that Adam had before sin entered people.
I believe your experience, and I have had a similar experience with the Tarot cards.
I have also had an astral projection experience, and a premonition or clairvoyant experience when my parents got into a life threatening car accident.
All those things took place before I became a Christian. My faith in the Christian God was only made stronger because I didn't try to hide it from myself.
But here is the important thing: It's not something that is supposed to remove your trust in God, if anything it's something that should edify the belief that there is something more than what you see going on. We are not only flesh and ideas wrapped up in a bundle. There are the things of the spirit, and God is the author of our spirit. We should not allow ourselves to fall away from recognizing that.
With the belief in the spirit reaffirmed by personal experience, we:
1) don't have to wonder anymore if there is a spirit or not,
2) don't have to prove it to anybody,
3) have a gift that we can begin to know, but only if we do not deny it.
In my Christian walk, and through what God has taught me, I no longer feel the need to ask others about what my future is. Instead I get dreams and other intuitions that come from the source.
If I were to adopt the traditional Christian viewpoint on all this, I would have to become someone that I am not. That's not how I think, and that's not how God raised me.
After reading what you wrote, I think that you are probably not a Christian. But I am telling you; you can believe that you were told your future, and still be a Christian . . . IF you want to be one.

No human can predict the future. God knows the future but we are not predestined. Being predestined means that He is making us do things to His will. If that was the case, we'd all be loving and peaceful people. God gave us the ability to know right from wrong and the ability to reason things out, use logic, be rational and do what we want.
This spiritist - the things that she said, where they things that happen to many people in every day life? Things that happen usually pertaining to a certain group of people, depending on their sex, their age, the city they live in? I've been to 2 'mediums' and have had friends that have have palm readings and tarot cards done for them. Some of what was told to us have come true but if these 'mediums' said these same things to 100 people, it would have happened to at least 75 of them. They tell you things that are common for many other people, or they are told beforehand by the person that brings you there personal things about you and they can guess at your future. They are fake. No person can predict the true future. If something they tell you rarely happens to people, then it's just a coincidence. I've heard a few stories about it but some of the stories were later found out to be completely made up for publicity.
So, don't read in to this 'crap'. It's all a scam. God never gave a human the ability to see the future. He did have certain people, mostly prophets, have dreams about something and that person saw to it that that event would happen. But it's God putting the dream in their minds, it's not their own human ability to do it.

try thinking of it this way... every choice theres a fork in the path. ... or many forks really, depending on the circumstances. now, imagine that some of these paths are, given certain variables, much more or much less likely.
with only a very few hard points that are decided ahead of time, that you will almost certainly hit into somehow. (not neccesarily directly, or indirectly... or understandably, or deliberately)
now imagine that some are able to see a general map of these events, seeing general ideas of some benchmark points, and what paths of choices are more or less likely.
now if you had this map, you could work out what your most-likely future events will be.
as Angk said... its not really carved in stone as such, but various somewhat predictable responses to circumstances resulting in other circumstances.
now, imagine it by God's perspective... God has ALL the variables. ... absolutely. from that perspective the infinitys of variables are known, and thus the choices can be absolutely predicted.
and if you look at the past, does the fact that in hind sight you know what your choices were, change the fact you had those choices at that time?

Yes, there is both free will and fate. Because our destiny is to reach ultimate peace and happiness, by our free will we naturally gravitate toward spiritual happiness and away from things that will cause suffering. What manipulates our otherwise perfect logic is fear, false perceptions of the past that skew our perception of the future, unforgiven conflicts with others that get us sidetracked; but as we heal and overcome the past, the future makes itself more and more clear so we make better choices more consistent with our true future and purpose in life.
So yes, there is a good purpose and plan. But yes, we still need to pray in order to "prepare" our hearts and minds to receive the knowledge and strength we need to make the right choices in life. If we fill ourselves or distract our minds with negative influences, this can impair our judgment. So whatever obstacles or negatives we encounter, if we continue to forgive the past and pray for God's will to intervene, we can receive the right understanding and path to take at all turns.
Life is like a script, where the characters in the past and in the future mutually influence each other to fulfill the plot, so it is designed holistically to be balanced over time. However, as humans we experience time "linearly" and cannot see the big picture as from God's universal and omniscient viewpoint. So again, by keeping our hearts, minds, and consciences clear at all times, we can open ourselves up to receive all the knowledge we need as to what is going on in each scene, with each character, what is the plot and the purpose, and use all for the common good. Romans 8:18 says that all things work together for good, for those called to God's purpose, so prayer can help us let go and let God fulfill that purpose by guiding us to think, act, and speak for the best. We need to be in tune with God's will since we cannot know the whole script and are at times much like actors on a set improvising an ad lib while trying to figure out what everyone else is doing here and how we can work together.
So prayer helps us with that process.

Well, this isn't coming from a religious standpoint. I read Tarot, and from that experience I'll give you this: Even for those who can in some way see the future, it's an imperfect view. I believe that what most people see is the most *likely* thing to happen, and will unless *you* work against it happening. In my Tarot spreads, I lay cards to try and look at two possible outcomes as well as the significant things that those outcomes hinge on; in that way, people can choose to let the course floow through or to change it in an informed way.
I do *not*, under any circumstances, believe that we are predestined for anything. Are there tendencies towards one thing or another? Sure. But we have the ability to change these things.

I know how that works really. It is a scam that the spiritualists use to get money from people, and I'll clue you in one how it works. First they give you generalization that we can all identify with. Then they tell you things that you already know so they can seem agreeable and someone you can trust. Then, if the reading is intense or emotional, they may throw in some definitive things like a bad break-up in a relationship. You'll have a psychological imprint of that prediction and when you do have a breakup you'll think of the reading. Your destiny is in your hands.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

No -one can solve this .This is a question we all have. Try to find a religion or some spiritual readings that you can understand . That may help you get through life with better understanding of your purpose here on Earth.I feel the way you do at times but I know there is a plan for me and I live each day knowing that.Peace

Destiny is in your hand, what you experienced is nothing out of the ordinary. Most people will go through the same things in their lives, and unless you're someone special you'll probably do the same things. And another thing is, the "spiritist" had planted his seed into your mind, meaning that he has put bias in your mind at a young age and when you do meet something that is similar you will immediately think of your "prophecy".
If ya didn't see anything supernatural, it's just normal. Nothing to worry about.

no, life is not predestined
people that tell the future by whatever means are condemned in the bible as being from Satan
because the demons are good at convincing people about there future, don't you think they are also able to make sure that future happens
the ruler of this world is Satan and all he wants is to get people to believe in anything other than the truth in the bible.
