You probably have lactose intolerance. That is, your small intestine doesn't produce enough lactase, the enzyme you need to digest lactose, the natural sugar found in dairy products. Never fear, it's not dangerous.
The obvious thing to do is decrease the amount of milk and dairy products you eat until your symptoms go away.
If milk is your main source of calcium and you cut back on milk, then you should supplement your diet with substitutes like; sardines with bones, or spinach or broccoli. Calcium supplements are another option, as are lactase enzymes, pills, or lactase-treated milk.
Never drink milk alone. Some people find their symptoms disappear if they take their dairy products with meals. As you mentioned " eat something with cheese".
Eat yoghurt. The organisms that make yoghurt what it is, also produce lactase to digest the lactose contained in yoghurt. Secondly, the bacteria themselves also probably break down the lactose in the milk.
Yoghurt is made from pasteurized milk. But sometimes manufacturers repasteurize the yoghurt before they freeze it. This would kill the beneficial organisms that produce lactose.
So try to find yoghurt that has not been repasteurized. It means choose regular yoghurt over frozen one.
Eat yoghurt before ice cream. If you eat yogurt 5 to 15 minutes before you eat ice cream [or other milk products], probably any symptoms of lactose-intolerance would be less.
Try cheese, too. Cheese has less lactose in it than milk. Hard cheeses are the best, because they're fermented the most. Swiss cheese or extra sharp cheddar cheese contain only a trace amount of lactose and are thus less likely to produce digestive upset.

Very possibly. I am lactose intolerant but only with milk. I can eat cheeses and ice cream just fine, but when I drink milk I get a very upset stomach and diarrhea. The cheapest way to find out if this is your problem would be to buy some Lactaid (over the counter) take it as directed and see if milk still bothers you. If not then that is probably the problem. If your stomach is still upset then you need to see a doctor. Hope this helps!

Sounds like you're lactose intolerant. My friend is as well. the funny thing about being lactose intolerant is that there are different levels of intolerance.
In order to find out where she landed, my friend's doctor had her test herself by gradually eating higher levels of lactose each day. For instance, the first day she had something with cheese, the next day something with cheese and a glass of milk, then the next day she added an ice cream or something. When you start to get sick, stop. That's how you know how much lactose you can take. You can also ask your doctor.

It sounds very possible that you are lactose intolerant. Having this condition just means that your body doesn't produce an enzyme called lactase, which breaks down the type of sugar found in milk and many milk products (or at least not enough of it). There are various products on the market to help you digest milk products such as Lact-aid.

Quite possibly you are. It could also be a milk allergy. I'm lactose intolerant and throwing up isn't as much my problem as say diaherria. It would definitely be something worth talking to a doctor or allergist about.
