if a person claims he was hit by a car, and doesn't press charges immediatly, how long does he have till he can no longer press charges?

did an officer take a report? why would you wait more than 6 months to press charges? is vehicular assault=it is a criminal issue. it is normally prosecuted by law enforcement.

I do not know about Kansas, but in the state of Texas in misdemeanor cases you have 2 years to file the charges......most felony cases as well with the exception of homicide which does not have a statute of limitations and charges can be filed at any time regardless of how much time has passed and I would imagine the Kansas is similar.
