Both alcohol and cannabis are dangerous when operating vehicles, cars, boats, etc... Both are moderately safe when used in moderation and under safe conditions, at home or when not engaged in activity when you are responsible for yours and others safety.
The small health benefits attributed to ether don’t really factor into which ones more dangerous.
Looking at some of the health risks associated with both. In a normal healthy person alcohol is much easier to over dose and die from then the active ingredient in cannabis, where it’s almost impossible. Cannabis has been linked to cancer, lung and reproductive harm. Alcohol can cause major liver damage and with constant use over time has been proven to cause brain damage.
We know both impair judgment but someone under the influence of cannabis is more likely to be lazy and lethargic. Where as someone drunk on alcohol maybe more motivated to do things they shouldn’t like drive and to do things out of there character like fight, dance and steal.
I think alcohol wins as more dangerous. But I think both should be used with intelligence, maturity, and respect.

Sure it should be legal. The problem they have with it is it will be hard to tax because of all the seeds. If one person grows and sells a lot of it, and they pay taxes on it, than the people they sell it to will have the seeds and be able to grow it without being taxed. Maybe if they found a way to genetically alter it so it doesn't have seeds, and the on;y way you can grow it is to buy the seeds from the government, than maybe it will work. But it is all about the money. What harm does it actually do? The only problems I have ever seen, was when someone was smoking some laced crap, and he went into convulsions and passed out for a few hours. Bad experience that was for him. He never used laced cannabis again. If it is all natural, it is actually kind of good for your body. It helps to relieve stress, headaches, stomachaches, and a few other aches and pains. I see no problem with it at all. I am not a user, and didn't use in high school, but everyone I knew from my best friends, to my own mother were all users.

This is a really difficult question to answer.

Health wise, some studiesw suggest that alcohol can be used in moderation, and in some cases has health-promoting properties. But lets remember, alcohol has been legal longer and is more socially accepted. It is in the interest of the alcohol producing industry to have a 'benefit' recognized publicly.

Cannabis and other "illegal" drugs have not been studied by anyone wishing to promote their benefits. Studies promoting the dangers of most illegal substances exist. But the benefits, well, these are considered ANECDOTAL by most doctors and politicians.

Peronally, I think both have risks and benefits. But as far as endangering the lives of the user and of others, I think Alcohol is by far the most dangerous substance that one can obtain legally.

If the chemical compounds in Cannabis or THC, were purified and placed in a beverage or medication, it would be far less dangerous than alcohol.

I think that as cannabis makes a person a recluse it is not as dangerous as alcohol which seems to make people want to drive and cause fatalities, usually other peoples fatalities not their own,.

It all depends on how much and how often. We all know a heavy bout with alcohol can cause death, but cannabis can cause lethargy, apathy and emotional blunting that can destroy a persons relationships and work ethic. Some say its as bad for the lungs as cigarette smoking.

What country are you in?

(Thinking here of "Midnight Express"...)

In a sane country (Canada, say): booze, definitely. Even all the junk food you'll eat while stoned can't compete with alcohol's basic unhealthiness...

Unless it's one small glass of red wine vs several joints per day. In which case...

But, you did say 'dangerous.' Not 'unhealthy.'

Alcohol, by an absurdly large margin.

If i were driving down the road and had to choose an oncoming driver,1 drunk, 1 stoned, I would choose the pot smoker every time...At least he won't run over me; He'll be the one waiting for the pigeons to get out of the way...
