Because they can, and because they know that most times they will get away with it.
Women are much better liars than men (more practise), and also much sneakier, so they're careful not to makek their man suspicious.

In a Playboy sex survey last year women 57% cited emotional needs, 48% reassurance of desirability, 40% a desire for companionship they didn't feel they were getting from their husband or boyfriend, and 39% for excitement.
Of course that add's up to more than 100% because many women checked a couple choices as why they were or had cheated.

Same reasons why stupid men cheat on women who love them and are honest with them.. Cheating has nothing to do with gender though...
