Normal driving speeds should be acknowledged during transport. However, if the officer is in proximity of another 911 he can exceed the speed limit in order to respond.
During a routine traffic stop I was once arrested for "not having drivers license on person." Which is a discretionary ticket. I had left work on the night shift for lunch and left my purse in my locker? I was hand cuffed behind my back and placed in the car.
The officer received a call to respond to a possible drug related incident? He flew 120 MPH to a house in the country. I sat in the back seat while they busted a house. The officer came to the patrol car and told me to lay down. I asked if he could loosen the cuffs because they were cutting into my wrists? He said he couldn't do that. The officer put the drug dealer in car with ME.
Then he drove like a bat out of hell for 20 minutes to get to the station. I even asked the officer if he had to drive so fast, and could he legally do that? He said "I can in this case".
I mentioned this when I went to court? The fine for my misfortune should have been release upon ICS or ISS or what ever they call into? My court fine? $900!
I would say that the officer can validate his speed by any means of responce and/or immediate call for assistance.

It isn't legal - it also isn't provable.
Where you sitting up front with the officer so that you could see the speedometer? That would be the first question I would ask you if I were the officer's legal representative. Most arrestees are seated in the rear of the patrol car.
Also, stopping for anything at 108 mph is pretty difficult, because by the time you see it, you are already passing it.
Your story doesn't sound credible, and would be further discredited because you had just been arrested by this officer.

In maximum new autos (computerized or guide) there are protection gadgets to dodge you from pleasing the opposite equipment even as vacationing at speeds larger than some mph. in a lot of situations in automatics, the opposite equipment can in basic terms decrease in even as the brakes are completely utilized. In guide transmissions there is in a lot of situations the opposite equipment would not in any respect decrease in even as the motorized vehicle is in ahead action. In a lot older autos, that is bye bye to the tranny. The gears, seize, and pressure shafts will violently slam, grind or shear adverse to at least one yet another. the shape will be very violent. As a motive force you'll adventure a noisy pop, grinding sound and a quite violent jerk. Its not a interesting experience.

Depends on where you are at. Some states require that an emergency vehicle uses it's lights and/or is responding to a call in order to exceed the speed limit. Other places there are no restriction. They law will simply state "any authorized police vehicle".

Actually, the cop is supposed to obey the traffic laws unless he has his emergency lights on. But, guess what, if he causes some accident he'll say... you guessed it ... he'll say he had his emergency lights operating.
