Zoloft works pretty well when taken consistently. I don't know about depicote. My hubby is bipolar and had his best results with Lithium. He took them consistently for many years. Due to side effects such as insulin resistance and psoriasis, we started to experiment with alternative therapy. What we hit on was regular attendance at church activities (meaning we actually participate) and the use of H.A.L.T., meaning never get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. He attended anger management classes and learned to express his anger in words instead of acting out. He eats a little, every 3 hours and goes to bed at midnight, getting up at 8am. It's been a little over a year since he used meds, but he got off with the help of his doctor, after agreeing that if the disease deteriorated, he would start it again. The doctor eased him off the meds a little at a time. He dims the lights and eats some turkey at about an hour before bed. The tryptophane in the turkey makes him sleepy. Listen to some soft music when you want to go to sleep. Big Band works for us, or light classical. Sweet dreams and best wishes!

Never stop taking antidepressants abruptly. It can cause sleep problems such as those you are experiencing. It would also be a good idea to talk to your psychiatrist and be very honest with him/her about how you are taking your meds. Taking them consistently is important, especially when one of the drugs (depakote) requires that it reach a certain level in your bloodstream before the therapeutic benefits kick in.

Yes you probably did however when you had no nasty signs then simply overlook approximately it. Your melancholy would possibly come again at a few long term time and if it does you spot your Dr. and make a further appointment with the psychiatrist who will track your therapy. Those medicinal drugs paintings good for a few persons and also you look to be one of the crucial fortunate ones.

It is never a good idea to just stop taking psych meds. You can go thru withdrawal. Also it can screw with your brain chemistry. You should go to your dr and he will ween you off.

Umm. I did that. I had withdrawls so bad that I was seeing things that weren't there. But in my opinion it is the best way to stop because it's the fastest. Good luck.
