If your belief system has a god, prophet, etc. that you follow, did they gain followers through their words or through their actions? Which do you think is better? Which would you use to attempt to bring more believers into your religion? Why?

Actions. The Prophet Muhammad was the most trustworthy, compassionate and generous human being to ever walk the face of this Earth, peace be upon him. The tribal Arabs of that time gave people respect, protection and trust based on who they were, not just what they said. Although words are a close second and often reflect was is in a person's heart. Again, the Holy Prophet was given the best words as well: The Holy Qur'an. So God gifted him with both and with those two, he was able to win people over. But more often than not, just his actions alone were enough to win people's hearts, so I will say actions are indeed much louder and influential than words.

It is important to encourage people to study all existing evidence and use their mind not to just accept something blindly.
Do their words and actions conflict? Both need to be considered.
Humanity often feels safer in a crowd than as an individual, hence the need to conform or persuade others to conform. Some may believe that individuals are like children and do not know what is best for them, thus they will feel it their duty to oversee your 'best interest'. However, I believe that people should be allowed to make their own life choices about faith or religion and not be judged for disagreeing.

I believe the two go hand in hand. Jesus is the best role model for this. He used words and actions. And I think following His "great commission" to make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey all the commandments...is as much an action as it is spoken words.
If you love someone, you should tell them in words, and show them in actions. It is the same with the Gospel.

Both have to do. Some people are inspired by the words and some are by words. Words make people understand your vision and action shows that you that truly believe in what you say.

I would not attempt to bring others to my religion, it takes quite a bit of work to be what I am---as for what impresses me as far as what others do, it's actions--and it amazes me that christians acn come on here, say they do the actions part and then stay on here preaching for ten hours--what actions are they doing? pointing and clicking?

I think both are important. Sometimes words inspire others to action with words.

You have to do both.
If you don't walk the walk, you're a hypocrite.
If you don't talk the talk, nobody will hear you.
