i see more and more instances where cops can take your car ,is there a way to keep your stuff like a lease or rental from your parents ,partners or friends LLC ,like some sort of lease back deal from pop that protects it or maybe a "poison pill" that renders car worthless to others

sorry to bust your bubble but in florida they are seizing "john's" cars in hooker stings and street racers lose their cars in wash state-$30,000.00 seems a little stiff penalty for fooling with hookers or racing don't you think?

why did you ask if you think you know so much? IN AZ-they are seizing rental cars for 30 days and it is expensive. Why would you "keep your stuff like a lease of rental from your parents?"

Unless the vehicle itself is deemed to be crucial evidence, leased or rented vehicles can't be seized by law enforcement. The reasoning behind it is that since the offender does not own the vehicle, and the leaser or renter (who is the owner) was unaware of the way the offender used their vehicle, it cannot be seized. However, your vehicle needs to be registered as a "leased" vehicle or you must have the rental agreement. This is why more and more drug dealers are leasing vehicles instead of purchasing them.

I've seen BAT -- Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco -- seize a doctor's airplane that was stolen to ferry drugs. All property rights and many constitutional rights are suspended when suspicion of trafficking is the reason given.

So, it doesn't matter if the vehicle is stolen, loaned, rented or owned, it becomes raided on suspicion and forfeited because of evidence.

They only take it in cases of drugs. Want to keep your car don't do drugs
