Smell nice, look nicer, have a rose.

Maybe white, maybe yellow. I'm afraid that red is reserved for lovers only... But if you think you have a chance at it, go with red.

Be witty, on your best behavior, and polite.

There are so many guys who refuse to be nice because it's seen as being a p*ssy, but in reality, that's horse shite.

Be confident, strong-willed, and courteous.

Just because she says something doesn't mean you have to agree with it. Some girls, though some will never admit it, like to have some sort of authority in their life (for various reasons I won't get into at the moment).

But among all things; be yourself!

Remember that there is only ONE you on this planet. There are plenty of cocky b*stards, the world is in no need of another.

Good luck, mate.

OK definently DO NOT buy someting expensive. She may not be that into you and that will only freak her out. I know it will freak me out. I think the sweetest thing you can do is this:
1) dress nice. Not too dressy but enough to let her know you care
2)compliment her throughout the night, not on stupid stuff or not too much but something like "wow, you have the cutest smile". It may require getting out of your shyness but she will love it
3) A rose is always a choice, but you gotta be carefull. Dont make it too planned, and give it to here when you two are completely alond
4) I dont know how old you are but it's romantic if afterwards you take her to a view point and look at the stars while you talk. The cinema doesnt give you much opportunity to talk so this will be it. Talk about past relationships and about what you expect from one another. That will ensure you are on the same page
5) A first kiss at the end if it all goes well

as for the akward cinema thing, thats hard to avoid. But better than an awkward dinner where you are in silence. Just make cute comments about the movie and hope for the best.

GOOD LUCK :)

cinema is not the best first date since you are still in the getting to know you phase and you can't chat in the theater. Oh well, at least plan on having a coffee or snack together afterwards. Bring her a rose or some other beautiful flower. If you guys stay together, then that flower will be a special keepsake for her.

Then, don't take her to a movie!!! If you want to wow her on the first real date away from prying eyes of friends, dream up something that comes close to something you already know she enjoys doing. I assume you've done a marginal amount of homework here(not stalking, just research!), so you must know something about her likes and dislikes. Just play to her happy side...make her laugh without trying TOO hard; don't get drunk or get into a fight and try not to trip over anything. The best way for her to have a good time is for her to see YOU having a good time!!!

Make it a little more personal than going to the movies... Go to the zoo or somewhere else where you two can really have some one on one. Reserve the movies for the 3rd date - by then you will pass that awkward stage and be able to hold hands and put your arm around her more comfortably.

Well the cinema is nice but I'd say not for a first date because you really won't be able to talk. Do something you know you would both enjoy. Perhaps bowling, roller derby or dancing; whatever.

I think the zoo is a brilliant idea. You can learn a lot about a person by how they respond to animals.

Do you know something? Stevo is so right (see below)

Bring a rose take care picking out the color. This way on special occasions you can bring her that same color and she will remember that is the color rose you gave her on the first date.
