Whenever I open my Windows Movie Maker it says that there was an error and it needs to close....?

Question

Is there a possibility it's corrupted?
How can I fix it?
Can I redownload it?
Where from?

Also while we're on the subject of movie making...
My brother has WinDVD on my computer and it won't let me import clips into it. It says make sure they're not corrupted and this is for every video I have (home videos) How else can I fix this problem.

Okay.. I have and they still don't work. So... thanks but no thanks and I don't think it's that kind of problem with WinDVD

Someone already covered the win movie maker 2 idea. First version had some problems.

For the windvd try downloading some codec packs here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/

Try the newest Kazaa codec pack or the windows media, that may fix your problem.

First I'd run some scans on your system to make sure you're not suffering any disk corruption. Right click your hd in "my computer" and choose properties, hit the tools tab, then hit the check disk for errors button, tic both boxes, hit ok it'll ask you to restart say yes. Let it scan, when it reboots go to start run type in sfc /scannow
That will scan your windows to make sure the dll cache isn't corrupted. Then it'd be a good idea to download Windows Movie Maker 2, it's free and a huge update from microsoft.com.
If your pc has other problems such as random reboots and whatnot, check it to see if it's dirty (especially the cpu fan) check the psu to see if it's dirty. Heat can cause problems.
