When I wake up, and through some parts of the day my hands, fingers, ankles, neck, face, jaws, and mouth become stiff, and swollen. It seams this happens after I rest or slow down from some sort of activity. I was on a medication for schizophrenia which caused stiffness but have been off of it for 6 months now. I've been to several doctors, and have had bloodwork and test done and they cannot find anything. I know something is definately up because this condition is getting worse.

How many pillows do you sleep on? Some of those symptoms suggest you have a chronic condition with the neck and only seems to loosen up when you are active. Which would be normal result of activity. I would venture to say, you have some other symptoms you aren't mentioning..Has anyone suggested an autonomic nervous system imbalance? Would cause some circulation distress in various areas of the body. Swelling is suggestive of a pooling of blood or fluids in an area.Which would create a sense of tightening or swelling. The circulation is under the influence of the autonomic nervous system. When there is an imbalance, symptoms will accrue.

Have you started any new medications for
other problems. Some medications will do
this and list it as a side effect. Are you taking
anything for arthritis ?
