I've been given a hint that my "Meaningless Sex" term is an irrelavant and an oxymoron in it's nature. So be it - CASUAL SEX is what it should be called!

Good question. "Meaningless sex" Is everywhere now. Teenagers talk about how great "Sex was last night" All the time. It's quite irritating really. What ever happened to the times when sex was special? The times when loosing your virginity was a scared thing? Now, modern day teenagers want nothing more than to be rid of it because it makes them more...womanly. Honestly, I don't think so. I think the exact opposite really. I really don't understand why 13 year old are so willing to have sex. Nor so I understand one night stands. Both of these acts make you appeal more...sluty really. I'm sorry, but that's my oppinion.

Not that i've done research, but I find it very rare to find a virgin in today's society. It's a shame. It isn't like keeping your virginity for "that special somone" is something to be shamed upon. I think, if everyone did that, the rate of STI's and STD's, whatever you call it, would go down rapidly. Not just that, buit you'd find th rate of teenage pregnancy would go down too.

Gratuitous sex = sex just for the heck of it, usually in movies, has no particular reason for even being in the plot.

Recreational sex = sex without commitment between two people, no emotional involvement outside of the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if, within the next 20 years or so, sex acts in public will be acceptable. It almost is now, but it will take a while before everyone says, aw, what the heck, just do it. In other words, it won't occur to people to say, get a room.

Very sad. And, to answer your question, very bad.

the term "meaningless sex" is an oxymoron in itself. there is no way sex can be had with no meaning. to have no meaning is to just lie there and take it like a rag doll. casual sex would be the closest term i can think of that would convey that lack of intimacy. but yes, sex has lost its flair. i blame the media. it seems that as our society becomes more x-rated, the more tolerable we are of it therefore nulifying the reactions and pandemics of the act of sex by adding the word meaningless.

does that make sence to you?

Inteligent people do not find an untrue statement to be true just because it is said often. Take "beginer's luck." It is really unusual for a beginer to prevail. On those rare occasions when a beginer prevails we use the word but no one really believes it's true. Likewise, few will believe the sex was meaningless just because the words become common.

I really think that it is. Sex isn't sacred anymore. Its more like for fun thats why it has messed up so many peoples relationship. Having random meaningless sex. I think women are the culprit because they ultimately have the say so in whether they are going to have sex with the guy. Because most guys are gonna wanna have sex anyway.

Honestly, when you think back, everything in this world has sexual roots. Even the Christian creation story...man and woman were made to reproduce. Everything goes back to sex, and it's become kind of hard to avoid. It IS in the media, that much is true, but I don't think it has become meaningless...just necessary.

I think that meaningless sex is meaningless because the people having it have reduced their partners to meaningless people. It is a terrible thing to devalue people and use them for how they can make you feel for a few minutes.

> You can't subscribe to an ideology and then modify > it to suit yourself, can you. Women do this all the time - much more than men. Women will adopt any belief system, fashion, or language to get what they want. They just won't admit it. All of feminism can be viewed as a few angry women trying to normal women to be honest in their grab for power.

Meaningless Sex (Pansexuality) (sometimes referred to as omnisexuality) is a sexual orientation characterized by a potential aesthetic attraction, romantic love and/or sexual desire for anybody, including people who do not fit into the gender binary of male/female implied by bisexual attraction. Pansexuality is sometimes described as the capacity to love a person romantically irrespective of gender. Some pansexuals also assert that gender and sex are meaningless to them.

Pansexuals may be attracted to various different forms of romance, and may be aroused by various different acts of sex on a carnal level. It has been stated that pansexuality refers not to a metaphysical order of attraction to other human beings, but rather a more carnal attraction to sexual acts irrespective of gender. Some suggest that pansexuality is more accurately described by its adepts: human- or person-oriented. Despite a pansexual's fluid sexuality, some may have a preference. A pansexual may be attracted to all genders and sexes, but have a preference, (for example) for transsexuals, other pansexuals, masculine lesbians, intersexed people, etc.

Many people who identify as pansexual may associate with people of all sexual orientations, but are not necessarily interested in sex with people of all sexes or genders. They may be comfortable with public displays of affection (PDAs) or semi-public sexual activity which is not confined to their own sexual orientation.

Pansexuals usually consider any sexual act acceptable as long as it is consensual. For some pansexuals, biological sex is a secondary factor, something that will be discovered if and when sexual interaction takes place.
