It's a must to get to your doctor ASAP. Call your doctor office and ask to speak to the doctors nurse. Then explain that you are having difficulty with depression and you need to be seen today or tomarrow. If they do not set you up with an appointment by then, then say that you are not having very pleasant thoughts and it is very important to be seen by then.
The doctor will ask you many question. They you will be prescribed some medication. It will help. If if does not help enough then get back in there and try another medication utill you find something that works well for you.
I also have been through this. I take 60 mg of Cymbalta daily. It works great. I do not ever have these suicidal thoughts anymore. Good luck to you.

I lived like you for over 30 years. I don't know how I survived but I finally got treatment from a Psychologist and am on medication.
I'm happy to say I haven't thought about suicide hardly at all for 2 years. I used to think of killing myself 5 to 10 times a day, every single day of my life. I'm now 54 years old and I wish I had gotten treatment so many years ago. I didn't know, due to my generation, that I didn't have to suffer like that.
Please, go to your family doctor and explain your problem. They will lead you toward the correct treatment for you.
Please, don't wait! You don't have to suffer. I promise.

Please, go see a therapist. Those thoughts are a product of the depression. Get on some meds--they have some really good ones now, that aren't like those in the past. I've been there, done that...Just DO NOT hurt yourself. Others will hurt with you, if you do something. Your family, friends, acquaintances, etc. If you do feel like you are going to try something, call the suicide prevention hotline in your area. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Look at the picture. Look at it for a long time, and while you look, think of the picture. Think of as many good things as you can. Look at all the things you can see in the picture. Describe to yourself what you feel about each of these things. Does it make you feel happy, calm, angry, scared? Think of as many emotions as you can, and try to relate them to the picture. Personally, after I did this, I felt calm. Maybe you will too, or maybe you will feel something different.
Now, ask yourself: Is suicide really worth losing these emotions? Emotion is the construct of human life. That, my friend, is a beautiful picture, and even if you may think differently, relate this picture to every tiny, small good feeling you've ever had in your life. Think of all good feeling. Think to yourself: Oh, how lucky I am, to be able to feel emotion, and how lucky I am to be able to walk a path that swims in a thousand thoughts of good and evil. Keep relating back to the picture. This picture, and all the feelings that go with it, are life. Life, built upon calmness and chaos, upon serenity and everlasting war, is a value.
Now, look back on all this. All of this is thought. Every moment you live is thought and good life. You are fortunate, as a human being, to not only be able to live, but also be able to see and be aware that you are living. This is a wonderful gift, and if you are to choose death over your gift, you will lose this precious oppertunity, this rare fortune that is your existence.

Draw closer to god. It will help you realize the blessings in your life. "Tommorrow is not promised". Everyday you wake is a blessing. Just try to build a more optimistic viewpoint on life. Life really is what you make it. No one's life is perfect and we ALL go through rough times. Each day is a new opportunity to make a change :)

Find an anti depressant, and a good therapist and Phsyc. Dr., and get involved with people that have a positive hand in your life. As you know, these are not healthy thoughts.
