Is there anyone suffering from pmdd and how did you handle it every month? how extreme did it get? any suicidal thoughts? any suggestions beside medication, doctor visits, dieting... what happens when you are at an extreme point that you totally lost your mind, totally not logic and everything doesn't make sense anymore? What do you do when you can't think anymore?

Hi there,
I am yet to be officially diagnosed with PMDD, but I believe i have this condition. This is something i have been suffering with from the age of 13, I am now 28 unmarried with no children.
I possess all of the symptoms pertaining to PMDD all but the Suicidal thoughts. It has been basically ruling and ruining my life for far too long. I have been to so many Doctors, Psychologists, Healers and more recently a Naturopath, to try and help me alleviate some of these symptoms. I exercise, eat healthy, and have a loving family and beautiful supportive boyfriend, however still have these awful awful symptoms. I myself am going to the Doctor again tomorrow to ask for 50mg of Zoloft daily, I have done a lot of research in to this, and believe this is a start. I can't continue feeling the way i do, my behaviour is starting to take it's toll on my relationship and with work etc, I can't deal with it anymore and don't think i should have to... So fingers crossed the Zoloft will help. I sympathise, your certainly not alone... Go and see your doctor...
Good luck xx

I have been suffering from severe PMS, or PMDD for years now. Over the years during the week prior to getting my period I become a monster who is sad, angry, crazy, irritable and irrational. My relationships have always suffered terribly because of the way that I treat those around me during this week with the yelling, put downs, crying ect. Finally I found that the medication Zoloft was the only thing that helped with these awful symptoms. It doesn't change my personality but it does take away the monster :) during this time of the month and helps me to think straight and control my emotions. Zoloft has literally saved my marriage!!!

I have never been dx'd, but I am sure I had pmdd. I just try the best I can to cope, usually by taking 2-3 baths a day. I have heard they treat it with a short dose of prozac. Having a baby helped regulate my hormones some, so most months are just fime. Every now and then, whammo, it hits like a ton of bricks.

As a fellow sufferer, I urge you to see a doctor. They can give you medication to make you back to your "old self" again.
It's common, so nothing to be shy about.
