My cousin moved from Columbus to Atlanta and does not miss a thing about Columbus. It was too slow after the college years and not much oppurtunities in comparison to Atl. It depends on your wants and needs.

I'm originally from Columbus Ohio and I moved to Atlanta 8 years ago when I was 24 years old. It really depends on WHY you moved there and what stage you are in your life. I can tell you about both cities because I've lived in both places. They are 2 totally different cities with 2 totally different vibes and 2 totally different areas of the country so its almost like comparing apples to oranges. But ask yourself, what was your motive for moving there and you will be able to answer your own question.

Columbus Ohio is a nice city for FAMILIES or people trying to start FAMILIES. It's a very FAMILY driven and FAMILY oriented city. If you have a family or are trying to get married and settle down, then yes, Columbus is where you need to be. It is also a growing city that has a lot of potential for a person who wants to slow down and go out a relaxed pace in life. It's basically a college town with no pro football or basketball team because they don't want Ohio State Buckeyes to be left out. So basically, it is what it is which is a slower paced family mid sized town. Ohio's public school system is way better than Georgia's school system also if you have kids or are planning to have some so that is something to think about.

Atlanta is a city for young, urban professionals that are single, and ready to mingle. Many people move here to get their careers started because it is easier to take off in that direction here. There are alot of activities and venues for young single people in Atlanta. Atlanta is a sheek, young, urban, sophisticated major city that is growing by leaps and bounds. Atlanta has alot to offer both single and young professionals as well as older married ones. There is a good mix of various races here and cultures unlike Columbus.

So you have to ask yourself, where are you in your life? Are you ready to settle down, go at a slower pace and can you handle cold as ever winter weather 6 months out the year? If so, then Columbus Ohio is where you need to be. Or are you young, viberant, cosmopolitan, single and professional with a lot of party left in your soul? Then ATL is where you should reside. Once you answer that question, you will be able to make that decision on what city best describes your current lifestyle.
