I can't sit in a seat for more than 20 minutes without being really figity. Today I had to go to an orientation for 4 hours and I was going insane! Tapping my feet, swinging my chair, going up to the bathroom 10 times! It was like this during school too and skipped alot because I would get so anxious and i just couldnt take it!

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and I can assure you it isn't a myth! You should talk to a health care provider. I'm also a psychology major and we actually had a discussion on the over diagnosis of this disorder. Though my opinion has changed somewhat since that class and my diagnosis. I personally believe it is over medicated in children for parents who just want their children to behave. If you don't have the disorder the medication will have the opposite effect. A friend of mine would take her brother's ridolin (sp) to get revved up on it, where when he took it it calmed him down and allowed him to concentrate on his homework.

I'm still learning about AD/HD myself and I've discovered I self medicated myself in classes. I always had a huge soda dripping with caffeine and it doesn't rev me up like most people. Caffeine helps me mellow down and I'm able to concentrate a lot better.

Talk to your doctor about it. It could be a number of things and only a professional can determine what, if anything, it is.

Good luck!!

ADHD is a myth, all you need to do is find some way to exert your energy during the day, such as maintaining a proper diet and getting plenty of exercise daily. You'll notice a huge change in your energy level and focus ability after you do that. Orientations of any sorts are usually boring anyway, so your feeling were most likely normal. Unless you'd rather be a drugged up zombie on Adderall like many kids these days...

I am diagnosed with ADHD. Since around 3rd grade i have been taking a low grade speed that slows the blood rushing through my body and takes it to my brain. If i am off the medication i eat excessively(eat only 2 meals if on medication) and can exceed greater in physical activitys when off the medication. When also off my medication i get worse grades on tests. Though, i did take an iq test when off the medication it said i had an above average IQ. I would visit the doctor first and get proper information before taking pills. You do not want to take these pills but it allows me to focus, and perform better in the classroom.

It's been said a couple of times before, but I'll chime in my support. It is possible that you have ADHD as most of the symptoms are consistent with the disorder. (Multiple use of the bathroom is likely something else.) However, it is dangerous to self-diagnose yourself, even if you have medical training. The best thing is to speak with a psychiatrist about your symptoms. Hope that helps.

You need to reverse the condition, attention is spiritual power. It's no good losing it.

My advice, despite and actually especially because of your condition, is this:

Practice paying attention, but the best method is meditation, even if you do only 5 minutes a day. 5 minutes a day is a start... increase by seconds if you must.

It is possible, but those are symptoms of anxiety disorder too. The only way to be sure is to have the testing done for ADHD.

It could be an anxiety disorder or it could just be ADHD. Check with your doctor....they'll know best. I'm studying in Psychology but I'm not well known yet with the material

The only way to know for sure is to see a doctor. Also sounds like you had too much caffeine.

You may have ADHD but you may not. You need to talk to a doctor.
